It should be Fox, in a landslide. Just a dominant player at his position, in every aspect.

Fox leads in points but only has 5 goals.

Oilers going to have to pay up for Barrie next year lol.

Makar is actully the only one on the list who is 1.0 PPG -- nobody else is even 0.9.

Agree with the sentiment that it's more of a lifetime achievement award -- so no, I don't think Fox wins this year.

I'm glad the prevailing vibe in here is bitterness, unlike what I see from Flames fans on Twitter ("oh get over it and just enjoy his game, we still got good return and he didn't want to be here"). I choose to be salty about this every time I hear his name for the entirety of his career, screw that guy.

Agreed, I don't like him and I hate that he did that to the Flames.

I do think he should win though. The jerk.

Fox has had a really good year for sure, however Hedman is a dominate dman in all aspects. Not just an award for the dman with the most points.

The other issue when voting occurs that I would think is a consideration

Rangers are a not a playoff team,

Very strong case for Fox, but I think Hedman will get it on reputation and it's not like its a bad choice.

Plus I don't want him to win, so there's that.

No. The Norris is a reputation award. Nobody wins it until they’ve been on the radar as one of the top d-men in the league for years.

Look at the list of winners in the last 20 years - almost all guys with 6-12 years in the league. The only exception was Karlsson winning it in his third season, and he put up 78 points.

Rangers aren't a playoff team yet he's still +18. He's dominating at his position both offensively and defensively. I think if you take Hedman from the bolts, they're still a good team. If you take Fox from the rangers, they're garbage.

They’re certainly good enough to be a playoff team, but their division was too strong.

They have a goal differential of +19!

Dallas is the only other non playoff team with a positive goal differential (+2). Every other divs 4th place team is negative.

Its not like Gary Bittman is picking. Do the PHWA care about the Rangers going off on the league? I bet many members (privately) agree with them.

I don't blame Fox at all for his decision, looking at what happened to this team this year there is obviously some serious rot, if Fox was a Flame who knows if he even plays the type of minutes he's getting on the Rangers. This team has a habit of preferring vets over young guys, nothing earned always given and all that. I applaud him for taking control of his future and ensuring he ended up on an organization that values him and gives him the chance to thrive

Imagine how a guy like Jack Eichel feels watching Fox call his shot while he’s stuck in Buffalo.

This thread is like the opposite of the Bennett thread for me.. Cheering for Bennett since it was the dumbass flames who screwed that up.. Cheering highly AGAINST Fox because it was his call to screw us.. Please do NOT win the Norris

agreed. despite how strong their division is, they have 58 points. they'd be in a playoff spot in any other division.

At least the Rangers are delivering a nice trainwreck themselves at the moment.
