I need to send in my Tag and they told me don’t bother, the wait list right now is months long due to COVID. To the point they aren’t even accepting new orders.

Not sure how that might apply to other Swiss watchmakers. Just an FYI.

Ya, I guess the official route of sending into Omega is an option, but it takes forever and costs a lot. Have gone this route in the past, but thankfully was always warranty repairs, so I could live with the wait.

Ive always heard good things about Swiss Watch Clinic, but looks like he is closed.

NHL players chipping in a grand each to buy a Rolex is like normal people chipping in $10 each to buy the co-worker a birthday present.

Regardless of the relative cost, a watch is an excellent way to mark a milestone and a classy gesture by the team mates.

Yeah but at least one of them has to share their wife with the Authorized Dealer to get a Stainless Steel Sub

I finally picked up a Timex Expedition Atlantis again. The MSRP is overpriced but found one on clearance for $40. I'm on a bender of getting all my childhood watches from the 90s back and enjoying wearing them more than my automatics.

(Not my wrist but close enough). Looking down at my watch, I feel like it's 1996 all over again!

LOL, I've had one of those for a good 10 years as my travel watch.

If I wanted my childhood watches I'd have to start with a C3PO one...

My wife got me a Christopher Ward for my birthday. I'm not a watch guy. I don't know anything about htem. I've been wearing a garmin watch for the past 5 years. I really like it. It's nice to have something that is nicer than a sport watch.
It's got me looking at nice watches and thinking about my next one.

Congrats - nice watch! Some years ago I was looking at a Christopher Ward watch but I could never settle on which one I wanted. I did buy my wife a few though.

Curious as to how your wife ended up on Christopher Ward - it seems a little obscure for not being a watch guy! (to be clear I think her selection is great)

Hope you enjoy the watch!

Your wife picking Christopher Ward is actually pretty cool.
Not too well known if your not into watches, but great pick.

And the Flames getting Lucic a Sub.
Did they get hooked up by an AD or do they have to buy grey market like the rest of us fools.

We have a friend who is a watch guy. We got talking about watches because he put a couple of his watches to his son's in his will. My wife heard us talking and I think I said that I'd like to get myself a nice watch. Nothing crazy but something better than my garmin. She called him later that day to ask for some recommendations. He happened to be shopping for a Christopher Ward at the time and told my wife about them. I do love the watch.

Sweet! I remember I had one of these with a stretchy fabric band in green and black!

Does anyone shop kijiji for watches? For real watch purchases I like brand new or from a reputable used source, but I like to search for older, nostalgic or cool looking watches on kijiji.

It feels like half of the ads say something to the effect of "just needs a new battery", and that worries me. Like why wouldn't you put a $2 battery in to sell a $70-$130 watch, instead of taking a likely $20-$50 hit for the uncertainty the customer faces?

The answer is that the uncertainty is likely founded.

Watches and Wonders was a couple of weeks ago. It's one of the larger international watch fairs and many brands unveil new releases during it.

One of the more notable and controversial releases this year is the Audemars Piguet Black Panther Royal Oak Offshore.
The first in a new collaboration with Marvel they are doing and limited to 250 pieces.

LBJ has already got his and was wearing it courtside a few nights ago.
Most watch enthusiasts absolutely hate it and can't believe a classic brand like AP is doing this.

I think it's a monstrosity but interesting conversation at least.
Retail price is around $162,000 USD.

Still hoping to see a picture of the clock at 6:30

I'd guess because they don't know how to do it themselves and are worried they will scratch the watch doing it.

Then there's plenty of people who think it's like $15-25 for a jeweler to do it for them, so add on another 5-10 bucks discount as the inconvenience for the person acquiring the watch.
