I used to be like that, went to the Dominican for my brother's wedding 15 years ago for a week and sweat my balls off. Then I lost quite a bit of weight (about 50 lbs) and spent a lot of time travelling through Asia in the last 10 years. That combo completely flipped my internal thermometer and now I love hot weather and hate the cold. I'll take +35 any day over -10. It's also a lot more fun to travel to hot destinations now that I can acclimate and not be a sweaty mess for the entire time

Eyes to the skies today. Models are forecasting some supercells between Calgary and Edmonton, with "a tornado or two" possible. Up to tennis ball size hail.

As the crow flies, our RV sits maybe 10 minutes from the tornadic activity up near Sundre/Bergen (not at any of the commercial sites around Sundre/Bergen). Talked to our property security guy/tenant, and they're without power, running off the generator right now. Bit of hail had just started about 10 minutes ago, but that point, it was really tiny.

Hoping it's all still there tomorrow and we aren't making an insurance claim. Moreso, I am really hoping no one is hurt or killed in all this.

Well craaaaaap. Touchdown, with damage. This is only minutes north of us (our camp spot is approx where the badly drawn star is, the other red marker is what came up for the co-ordinates given).

From the co-ordinates given (if I looked this up correctly), this looks to be the area, right near Westward Ho. Please be ok, people in that home.

As long as my front bumper gets at least one hail ding with the rest of the car that'd be fine. Then I could get my daytime running light replaced, the great design of the car requires removing the front bumper to remove the headlight to get at the bulb. $2 bulb + $160 in shop time lol.

Cochrane and Bragg Creek getting the ugly from what I'm watching on twitter. Just yikes.

ETA: and there's the warning for Cochrane/Bearspaw. Buckle up, Bragg, you're next.

Now those 'Save Springbank' signs are really going to be on the nose.

I say it every time but there's nothing quite like being at the airport when emergency alerts go off. Sounds like an air raid siren.

My parents keep a trailer at Westward Ho. Hopefully damage is minimum.
