that first trade down in the 1st round sure looks good now, especially when a couple teams went way off the board. The second trade down they lost the ability to draft some highly regarded players for a lower pick but based on Snow's reaction I think Zary was their guy anyway.

As i said in the thread, it's a home run swing which I love.
Massive upside. Massive risk.
If he hits he will be an impactful player.

I love using these mid-picks on players like this that seem to have a risk-reward aspect to them. Rated highly, something spooks teams, but could still pay off big time.

Pure offence guys, seen him play live a few times here in Quebec.
High end offence but big time struggles defensivly. Often gets beat on the rush and is horrible along the boards.
His isn't small though and is quick. Might be able to figure it out in the d zone if he commits more to effort.

This is the point of the draft where you start to just swing for the fences, I love a big boom or bust pick like this

Very good rebound from the previous choice. I had Poirier as a late-first rounder or early-second rounder. High variance prospect but big ceiling.
Getting him at 72 is fantastic work.

This is the luxury of having the extra 3rd round pick from the 2nd drop down trade yesterday. You can take a risk on a guy and then make a safer pick a few spots later. This is why Treliving had such a great day yesterday. Poirier's risk/reward isn't even on the table without those shrewd moves in the 1st round.
