I also hit the button 25 times to make the Flames win the lotto.

Here it is for anyone that wants to play.

I wouldn't be surprised if Flames win the draft lottery but then San Jose demands a video replay as they believe Flames last lotto ball obstructed the San Jose one and as always Flames get effed!

What if Silayev slips to us? Would people be excited for him? Is he just so high because he’s enormous? Or is he a sure thing?

Personally I think he’s like zadorov.

I’d much rather Buium or Parekh.

Silayev is a more rounded defensive dman and big.

My Defense rankings:
Levshunov (looks like a stud, right shot is a bonus in the nhl)
Buium (Adam Fox but not as much a flight risk)
Parekh (Hughes at best, bust at worst)
Yakemchuk (high upside, relatively decent floor)
Dickinson (safe pick, feels like a Hanifin ceiling)
Silyaev (zadorov)

Realistically, how much of a gap do you guys see from 3-12? This is how I have my preferred tiers at:

Celebrini
.
.
.
Demidov
.
5Dmen - Levshunov, Dickinson, Silayov, Buium, Parekh & 2 forwards - Lindstrom, Helenius
.
Catton, Eiserman, Iginla, Yaremchuk

Other than winning the lottery, I think we are in a good spot to get someone in that 3rd tier.

The dream scenario is that lottery outcome, along with the Flames dealing Markstrom to the Devils for their 1st rounder and then taking Yakemchuk with that pick.

Catton over Helenius all day long for me. He would go 2nd overall if he was 2 inches taller.

I've literally been daydreaming about this exact scenario plus Mercer. Come on Brodeur, make a power move and get Marky!

I would be very happy with a Markstrom for Tij Iginla or Yaremchuk swap straight up if there was no retention.

Allows us flexibility to retain on Mangiapane, Kuzmenko, and a 3rd player for 2025.

I think there are valid arguments for all the players in the 3rd/4th tiers listed there. I just don't think there is the normal tier'd gap we are used to seeing in other draft years. It's a weird one this year - and to our benefit.

How about Markstrom and the Vancouver 1st for NJ’s 1st?
We can then draft Tij and 1 of the stud D. Maybe NJ has to add a bit to that as well.

Markstrom is worth more than moving up ~15 drafts spots.

Man this org is due a lottery win, book it, gonna happen, that with a markstrom trade to new jersey, where we get there first overall and take Iginla, that's how you rebuild an organization on the fly....and the jersey sales, yeah baby!!!!!!

Every year we've been in the lottery, I think we are due. If there truly was a hockey god, they should be fair and reward the most anti-tank organization ever!

One thing to remember is that if you finish in the 8th position, there is a 6% chance of moving up, an 18.5% chance of moving down at least one position, and a 75.5% chance of staying there.
