To be fair they did the same thing with the first Last of Us too, released a PS4 remaster just one year after the original PS3 release. I imagine that's all this will be, just a quick coat of polish, not a full remake like The Last of Us Part I we saw in 2022

Why would Sony do that when they can just upgrade existing games and people keep buying them? If consumers want actual new games instead of code and graphics updates then stop buying the remasters of the remaster!

Sony has finally agreed to a 10 year COD parity contract with Microsoft-ABK. Funny thing is, this contract is complete garbage compared to the contract offered by Microsoft-ABK before the FTC lost the hearing.
This new contract is only for COD. Either Sony will have to work out a new agreement for all other existing ABK IP's or.... Microsoft knowing exactly what Sony has done and is doing in the market will now only put select high earning games on PlayStation. I could see a future where the next StarCraft is an Xbox Exclusive.

Doesn’t matter anyways - with the way Microsoft manages studios and franchises, the question isn’t “will these games be on PlayStation ten years down the road?” And more “will these games even be getting made at all in ten years?”

Jagged alliance 3 is pretty good, kinda cheesy but in an 80s action movie way. Pretty difficult (quite like xcom)

I'm more surprised there hasn't been a TLoU 2 remaster yet. It came out just a few months before PS5, every other big PS4 game from around that time and even earlier has seen a director's cut / re-release on PS5 years ago.

Prepare to be impatient even if there isn't a remaster coming out. 5 years is the norm for big games. Hell, the game I worked on has been in development since late 2018 and I started in 2020 and did work for almost two years.
It was supposed to come out shortly after I finished my freelance contract but they decided to move it over to UE5 and its' been delayed probably three times now.

thing is, it's already been 3 years since Part 2 came out. There was a 7 year wait between Part 1 and 2 ... at this point, with the TV series as well as those remasters coming out (and don't forget the multiplayer that surely is coming at some point  ), I think it'll be quite the wait. And that sucks if you love the IP as much as I do.
I would hope the Part 2 remaster at least gets some extra content. I have enjoyed various DLCs and Director's Cuts that other games have done (eg Ghost of Tsushima, both Horizon games ... and heck, even TLOU themselves with "Left Behind"), so I'd happily take that. But if it gets the Part 1 treatment? Meh.

Oh, I know. It sounds like they're still in pre-production. But people should expect it to take atleast 5-7 years to make. The PS6 will be out by the time it releases.

They did also develop and release a whole other game in that timeframe, to be fair (Uncharted 4).

Well I was looking forward to Diablo 4 season 1, but after looking at the patch notes for today and playing around a bit to test it I'm gonna pass. Blizzard doesn't appear to have any idea on how to make the post-campaign game more interesting or fun, their only goal appears to be to make the grind even harder with across the board damage and survivability nerfs
