He was invisible in the playoffs with Edmonton a couple years ago. He's scored in a few big games, but he's hardly a big game player.

Holy crap, series over just like that! The Isles deserve a ton of credit.

You know. For all the slander Monahan got last night in the PGT, he has more points than Crosby does right now.

I’m convinced now that his detractors don’t even pay attention to his play.

no one plays good in Edmonton though...
really before mcdavid appeared, players were just going through the motions... and arguably even now, outside of him and drysaitl most players are floating
there's a reason why a lot of players look a lot better after leaving edmonton...

Kessel Crosby and Malkin made a combined 24M$ this season. 6 points between them in 4 playoff games.

Not shocked the Islanders won but a sweep? I feel this would be looked at as quite the stunner if not of the Lightning's loss overshadowing it.

Islander's sending a message this season. They don't need you Jonny T!

It'll be amazing if the Isles play the Leafs in the conference finals.

First series sweep by the Islanders since they beat Edmonton for the Cup in 1983.
This is one hell of a stat too...

Definitely didn't think the Pens would get swept, but I'm not surprised the Isles won

Unless something has changed recently, the Islanders will be playing the rest of their home games at the Barclays Center.
If the regular season is any indication, that shouldn't make a difference for them. Their records at the Coliseum and Barclays were virtually identical this season.
They were 12-6-2 in Brooklyn and 12-7-2 at the Coliseum.

This was the hardest series for me to pick this year. I went with Pittsburgh in 7 because I thought their experience would give them a very slight edge. Never thought the Islanders would have swept them.
