Started watching Space Force. Through the first 2 episodes I snorted out maybe 2 half-laughs. Pretty disappointed. Great cast, great premise and it all just seems wasted. For Carrell's character, it's like they can't decide if he's a dimwitted general or a good guy in a bad situation. The beginning makes it seem like the latter, but then it veers into the former and its just not very funny. It's like they wanted Michael Scott to be in charge of Space Force so bad, but then really wanted to make it seem like they weren't doing that, and the result is some weird in-between.
It all just feels pretty lazy. I'll probably give it one more episode to see if it clicks. Daniels' shows seem to have a habit of taking time to feel out what they're trying to be (The Office, Parks)

Yeah it's not great but let's be honest can you imagine how bad it would be without John Malkovich? That man is amazing.

I thought it got better toward the end, but still very underwhelming. It just seems like such a waste of talent. They have some incredibly funny people on the show, but it's just not used. I would probably give season 2 a chance, but it would be on a short leash.
Yes, I have a new appreciation for John Malkovich. I was never really a huge fan of his before, outside of say Con Air and In the Line of Fire.
Yeah just finished it. It does get better towards the end, but any scene with his daughter or the helicopter pilot are just cringeworthy. If it was a 20 episode season, I probably would have stopped after 3 or 4.
I've been watching Cardinal on Crave. My god that is a good show, for being Canadian. If you like suspenseful police thriller, this is a much watch. There are 4 seasons I think, I'm halfway through 4 after 2 weeks.
I have searched pages trying to find who recommended this show! Finally found you!
Thank you!
Here is proof again Canadians can make good tv, despite CBC.
I decided because the last season of Shield that I'd start from episode 1. I really hope they bring back J August Richards through the time travels as Death Lok, they kind of just dropped the character which was a shame.
I also would like to see them bring Victoria Hand back as well.

Perry Mason on HBO had a really great first episode.
It's released weekly, so you can't binge it at the moment, but I'm looking forward to episode 2.

Barkskins flew by at a short 8 episodes and seemed more like half a season but I liked it. Hopefully a second season happens sooner rather than later. It sort of felt like what Frontier wanted to be if it was actually good.
