I'd watch a live stream camera shooting protesters who skirt the no protest zone with tranquilizer darts for hours on end.

Apparantly this came out on Friday.

The Federal Court of Appeal on Friday dismissed the B.C. government’s bid to challenge a National Energy Board ruling that allows Kinder Morgan to bypass local bylaws during construction.

Brent up over $70, but no double meat in Canadian's future due to lack of pipelines.

I would subscribe to a FPS style stream where I get to control the gun...

If BC wins this, I would expect that Kinder Morgan would pull out rather then have to go through the whole process again.

Is there really any chance B.C. wins at that hearing though? Both cases are based on very similar arguments, just seems like another stall tactic more than anything else.

Can KM sue the province of BC or even the city of Burnaby afterwards for legal costs and lost profits?
Has there been any precedent for such an obstructionist government to business and basically treating one company different than all the others?

Looking at proxies this year for some mid-cap oil companies I've bought - executive compensation is crazy for these guys. For example, the total pay-packet for the executive team at one of the companies is $20m+ vs the market capitalization of the company is $500m. These guy's are literally robbing the owners blind. They're getting paid more than the CEO's of companies that have market caps 10x their size!!! And their stock prices are down 90% in the past five years. It's disgusting.
Honestly, in the long run, the only oil & gas companies worth owning in this country are Suncor and CNRL. Among the many reasons why investors are shunning mid-cap and small-cap canadian oil and gas, this has to be one of them.

Sounds like my former company - small-cap services company was devastated by the 2007 downturn, share price went from $6 to 25 cents, lay-offs, salary freezes, and reduced hours for all employees, and the executives are still making their 500k a year salaries and 500k bonuses.
The problem with a lot of these companies is the board doesn't do its job because it's three people who are either current or former executives of the company, and they're all pals.

Venezuela production is crashing to the lowest level in 70 years. Their heavy production is our biggest competitor and US refineries are desperate to replace the barrels.
Genscape also reported that nearly 300kbpd were exported on rail in January so the bottleneck is releasing.
Heavy differential will continue to tighten as heavy production falls in Venezuela and rail ramps up.
Read an article today that forecast Light Shale will start trading at a discount to WTI due to a lack of access and Canadian Heavy will continue to rally.
Funny how the tables are turning
