Hey Arnold, how many houses do you have?
Hey Arnold how many cars do you have?
Hey Arnold how many jets do you have?
Hey Arnold how many boats do you have?
Hey Arnold when you shoot your movies, how much non clean electricity do you use? What are your emissions from making a movie?
Hey Arnold when you were the Govena, did you do anything to clean up that blight in California that is one of the worst environmental offenders, you know the Oil extraction operation?
You are a just another hypocritical gas bag.

Beyond the fact that such claims are completely frivolous, Arnold has no plans to actually sue anybody or do anything. He's virtue signaling.

Why don't we net that against how many people are able to be alive because of oil/gas (i.e. having access to food, basic necessities etc) and see where it ends up first.

Imagine suing the Oil and Gas industry for modernizing the world, allowing us to live as we do right now. It is so essential to our world that what Arnold has stated here is so infuriating - it has no basis in reality.
"Sorry boys, gonna have to sue you because California is upset"
And yet the article has over 50,000 upvotes on reddit. This is the world we live in.

It really is remarkable how the extraction and refining of oil is vilified, instead of its consumption. It's like blaming farmers for obesity.
But attaching the moral approbation to consumption would mean asking people to look in the mirror. Can't have that.

If you are referring to OWA costs being high that is a common misconception. Especially with guys like CNRL vying to take the levied money. If you are curious you can PM me. Don’t want to say to much about it here.

Wouldn’t that be the purpose of having the warning labels though? To target consumers? Whether it ends up working or not is a whole other debate, but much like the warnings on cigarette packages, warnings at gas stations or in cars etc, would be an attempt at shifting the onus to the user.

You know what I'd love to do.
go up to one of these anti-oil celebrities, or protestors and say. You want to live life without Oil right?
"Yeah man, Oil is evil"
Ok great give me you're car
No problem man, I'll ride a bike. Nope, I'll need the tires and all of the plastic fittings.
What what?
You're gonna have to walk
Um ok man
Give me you're shoes.
But
Most of the components in your shoes, Oil, oh and the factories that make them oil.
But
Gonna go home them are you?
Yeah man.
yeah we took out your furnace for you and shut off your utilities.
But I'll freeze
Make a fire
K?
Give me your lighter.
But.
Maybe you can call some friends and crash with them
Yeah, man collectivism, we'll live without oil.
Call them.
Where's my phone man
Oh I took your phone . . . oil you know.
You want lunch.
I'm a might peckish. Hey man where'd the fast food places go.
No oil remember. Here's some seeds.
Can I eat them man?
Sure but you might want to plant them instead.
Want a steak?
Yeah
Here's a spear, to kill one.
Why
No Oil means no transportation, also no factories

I'd be all for a sign at the boarding gate to every passenger plane citing the number of weeks or months of everyday greenhouse gas emissions your seat on this flight will be responsible for.

Massive protest of the Trans Mountain Pipeline this weekend, with a couple of hundred showing up for support of the line expansion.
I still completely have my doubts that the Federal Government is going to go against their voting base to push this thing through no matter what the law.

I have to admit, I laughed at the 'Justin is in Bed with Kinder Morgan' poster.
Who do you think the idiot holding that stupid poster is in bed with?

As long as it also mentions that it is better than if you drove your Honda Civic instead.
So I guess one or two days of driving to get where your going instead of flying. As opposed to weeks and months.

It'll depend on how full the plane is and how many premium seats are installed, and also whether the Civic is carrying passengers.

If there are people who hate oil so much (and the cheap and dense energy it provides), they can go back the old days of people mostly not traveling at all and when they did, it would be much slower.

And how big the plane is, and how new (efficient) the plane is.
It’s just the narrative of airplane travel being bad isn’t really correct. It is any kind of petroleum based travel being bad. Real change isn’t from not travelling by airplane, it is by not travelling any further than you can ride your bike.

They would all die of dysentery. I mean, how long would it have taken Arnold to get to California from Austria without an airplane? Or for Leonardo Di Caprio to get to Alberta without an airplane?

A trip between Calgary and Lethbridge would probably take have taken 3 days by horse and wagon.
at 131 miles and probably a pace of between 5 and 7 miles an hour, with over night stops.
A trip to Edmonton would have taken a week.
Pretty amazing when you think about it.
