Impressive that Winnipeg wins a trade they're not even involved in, tbh

Budget quality Around The Losers Report:

On what f***ing grounds?

Good job Gary, you just set an absolutely ridiculous precedent for the league going forward.

On the grounds that it's the oilers of course.

I knew this would happen. Gary loves to f*** us over

How can they just extrapolate without any context and come to a conclusion on this ONE aspect of the season. So frustrating.

This is BULL####!!!!! Neal never f***ing scored 20 GOALS!!!!!!!! He probably wasn’t going to! BULL####

It's not about the pick honestly. It's about how this #### happens to us regularly. If there's a chance to f*** the oilers, the league takes it.

The MOU very clearly says that stats will be prorated for performance bonuses...

Quote:
Club-paid Performance Bonuses not yet earned as of the “pause”

If a Player had not yet met the threshold requirement(s) for a Performance Bonus as of the “pause” and was a Roster Freeze Player:
  • If, by the end of the 2019-20 Season, he meets the threshold requirement(s) only after the threshold is pro-rated by a factor of [70/82], he shall receive the Bonus amount prorated by a factor of [70/82].
  • If, by the end of the 2019-20 Season, he meets the threshold requirement(s) without the threshold being pro-rated by a factor of [70/82], he shall receive 100% of the Bonus amount.

Very difficult for an Edmonton resident to understand the meaning of memorandum, never mind an MOU.

Its 2021. The Oilers don't have a 2nd or a 4th this year. Do they? Losers.

I’m not sure I agree with this to be honest. I’d be pissed if it was the other way around.

He didn’t score the goals, and who knows if he would have.

And we have to give Chicago a 3rd this year. Was hoping the Oiler 3rd this year would help with trading that pick. Worst case we get 2 picks in the 3rd next draft.

Tough to argue against proration when the games weren’t played.

How else could you properly resolve this conundrum?

Thats not totally true, they'll trade poolparty for a pick.

I just think that for trades it should have been treated like an injury.

The deal said 21 goals, not 21 goals pro-rated over an 82 game season.

Neal could have been injured in game 72 and the Flames wouldn’t have gotten the 3rd.

I know I shouldn't be surprised, but how can Oilers possibly think the league has something against them?
They were literally just gifted the next generational player, after already drafting 1st overall in 3 of the previous 5 years.

This is why we can't have nice things.

Do you reject/try to justify why you shouldn't get gifts at Christmas too?

This is awesome. It's great. Finito. End of story.

Covid created a pretty exceptional and unique first ever situation for the NHL.

It was games cancelled due to a pandemic. Not a strike, not an injury, and not a lockout.

Proration of points obtained in relation to games played , IMO, would be the only fair and appropriate solution .
