Hope it sticks for tomorrow
Like the look of it hopefully we see it tomorrow for a better read as tonight score effects probably impacted thaf number.

I do think it sticks based on what Sutter said.

I feel bad for the fans who had to suffer through that. It was like getting a root canal while being water boarded.

Ya I think Sutter has sucked the life from this group. Crazy how he’s seemed to have lost it in a year. His drop in performance as a coach is not unlike Huberdeau as a player from last season. Wonder what Trotz is up to these days.

I just think why Sutter changed the forward lines at the same time when he forced to change D pairing. They looked confused and can't connect.
They are looked the worst team today, not Chicago.

If Tanev is out long term then you have to take a long look in the mirror because it ain’t going to be pretty.

That said, it’s fair to say the Lucic experiment is probably over, and it’s time to start playing some desperate hockey. A bounce back win tomorrow would be incredibly helpful going into the break.

Yes, but Florida could have done that themselves if they thought they could get other stuff back too. Tre could have demanded two 2023 1sts, the FLA 2025 1st, and Cole Schwindt, for example. Keep Monahan and that's four 1st round picks and a decent prospect.

I think the Flames could have even got more than that if they traded Huberdeau and Weegar themselves after the Tkachuk deal was done, since they could afford to take back a dead contract for extra draft capital.

Agreed. But then the CP anointed Wizard pulled off what many called the deal of the century leading many experienced pundits to wonder if the Flames were even better than before.

I confess I got caught up in the hype. Look at the threads that day. I had never even seen Huberdeau play and had never heard of Weegar.

Unbelievable….

Really hard to care about this year’s team. Sure seems like lindholm’s view much of the year btw.

Pelletier’s body language in the third when he was in the slot, passed it to kadri on the wing, re-positioned himself for a better shot in anticipation of the return pass and…. Nothing

Hard times in Flamesland.

Kadri's IQ when it comes to finding/seeing open teammates is really not great

his one glaring weakness

makes a lot of great individual plays though

It boggles my mind how people are blaming Sutter. Daryl has had success with winning, the one who hasn't is Treliving. He mismanaged the team's assets then grabbed any two players he could without actually knowing if they gelled as a team and signed them to long term deals.

Huberdeau for Monahan and 1st, and 1st and Coronato for Gaudreau, and Weegar and 1st for Chychryn and hope Kylington and Tanev are back soon.

The biggest problem is Tre money pinched his own people in the org and then dished out big money to three players who’ve never played for this team.

They need to ride this year out with who they have. No sense in trying to make a trade to salvage anything. This team isn’t just one dman or a scoring winger or whatever from being contenders. They need to figure out how to play a consistent team game, and no individual player is going to solve that at the deadline.

A wait and see approach with those two would've been very wise

then you have options. if it works you can push for the extension, if it doesn't you can ship them for separate packages and have another dart for the board

too much gambled too soon (mind you these guys have and can further improve with time here)

I mean, they just won the cup and has been missing some of their best players for long periods of time all season. Their record this season is a little more understandable.

I'm not someone calling for Sutter's head, but I don't think the people who are, are out of line in doing so. It's not even that the results so far are all on Sutter, but sometimes a change in coaching is the easiest way to shake the team up.
