He won't be able to coach yet, but I'm sure the team is going to be well aware of Darryl's watchful eye.

Do it for Darryl.

Looking forward to this match-up. Both teams are coming in looking at this as a must-win. Should make for an intense game!

9-1 Calgary.

Will be interesting to see what this team does with Darryl watching. Hope they come out strong.

Flames win 10-0. Derek Ryan scores all 10.

Nothing like a very early GDT.

Shows that things are more interesting again.

Today I’m surprised it took so long to get the GDT up. I’m excited! Go Flames!

While Sutter won't be with the team this weekend for the BOA he has his hands fully in the clay already.

Quote:
Sutter is not expected to join the Flames until Monday at the earliest because he's going through NHL COVID-19 protocols and taking care of things at his farm in Viking, Alberta, but he spoke with players in two groups on Zoom on Friday.

Captain Mark Giordano said Sutter's message was direct, clear and had high expectations about the acceptable way to play.

"I'm sure guys took that to heart, and we're going to move forward and hopefully we turn this right away and start gaining some momentum here because obviously the season's not as long as most seasons (56 games instead of the usual 82)," the defenseman said. "So we've got to get going here right away.

Forward Mikael Backlund said Sutter has a clear idea how the Flames can turn things around after going 3-6-2 in their past 11 games.

"He's coming in to win," said Backlund, who was selected by Calgary in the first round (No. 24) of the 2007 NHL Draft when Sutter was general manager. "He said it's not going to be easy, it's going to be a lot of hard work. He expects us to compete hard on a daily basis. He's coming in to win, and nothing else is good enough."
I'd imagine the players already have new assignments and will be playing for their new bench boss out there.

I know it's Edmonton and we need the win, but win or lose, I just want to see a good effort. Show up at puck drop and play a full 60.
Don't care if it's cliche.
