Valimaki is going to be a good one. A real good one.

I think Valimaki's floor is trending to be top 4, and his ceiling is probably top pairing. Oodles of leadership and maturity out of him. 6 months ago, I didn't have him at #1, but I think it is difficult to make a case for anyone else ahead of this kid right now.

We sure did love Porier the last half decade. Wishful thinking I suppose.

The tradition of the number one spot making the team needs to continue. In my opinion Andersson is the most NHL ready player on this list. At 20 he dominated in the AHL, he came up last season and played 10 games and looked like he belonged. He is a RHS with a 101.5 mph clapper. He will be the next D man to make to squad.
Välimäki will be an NHL player one day but my guess is that he spends most of the year in the AHL logging top pairing minutes. He is my number two.

He looked great in his first pro season, then ran into off ice trouble.

Bingo
FYI your link to the 2017 results takes you to 2016.
I voted Valimaki but Andersson is ready and could still easily be the best of the 2 at the NHL level. Seems very close.

I'd stick Dube in there either just ahead of or behind Andersson. I think he's a sure fire NHLer who can play up and down the lineup. His versatility makes him a better bet to make the team long term than Mangiapane IMO.
