Let me clarify if Winnipeg doesn’t get one of Stone or Duchene they turn to Dzingel. All three are valuable individually #Sens

Without Stone, Duchene and Dzingel, that Senators roster is gonna be one of the worst in a long time

I haven't seen this posted, but I thought it was important. It looks like Cheveldayoff and Dorion were probably negotiating something.

I wonder if one of those four would need to be going back to Ottawa to make the cap work...

I think a deal for Stone could involve Laine.
He hasn't really looked fantastic this year, but will command a significant contact based on the previous 2 years. He can obviously put up points, but is pretty one dimensional, so including him in a trade gets great value in return, and let's management off the hook from having to sign Laine to a silly contact.

Yeah Laine really doesn't do much when he's not scoring. I don't think they would give up on him just yet though.

I can't see Winnipeg dealing Laine. They love their Finns there, and they've gotta hold on to all of their high draftees ideally. We should however, be all over Ehlers or Connor if they're considering dealing either of those two.

i was actually considering the same thing wrt to Laine...
what a blockbuster that would be... hopefully they wait until TDL day before they pull that one off...
Samuelsson Edit: we should be all over it, but you'd actually have to have assets that Wpg is enamored with for them to move Connor/Ehlers... outside of Valimaki, i don't think there's much unless we are dealing from our core group...We are also tight against the cap, so acquisitions of this scale have to be understood under that lens
.

I hope the Jets absolutely blow their wad at the deadline and really put themselves in a bind next year and beyond. One of the best things that could happen to the Flames IMO.

On Burakovsky, I like it for the Flames because the numbers suggest Burakovsky had much better seasons in 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 than he has had so far in 2018-2019. I legitimately think he would be an example of the Flames buying low. I think he is big, fast and skilled. I remember him in the WJHC as being really good for Sweden. I think 2018-2019 is a real low for him, and I believe there is more there. I mean, he is still young and could potentially grow with the forward talent we already have.
Really, though, I am for the Flames buying low and selling high whenever possible. Its just good asset management. I like Wennberg as a target as well.
I guess I'm hoping the Flames could get Burakovsky for less than Frolik. I am a pretty big Frolik fan.

The Jets rented Stastny. I bet they just rent Stone (if they get him at all).

I think Winnipeg would trade Laine but it would cost Ottawa a signed Stone, signed Dzingel (?spelling) and a first round pick.

I think Ottawa adds for sure, but not as much as people might think (in my opinion).
Stone is on another planet for defensive play, and still puts up very respectable points totals. Laine obviously scores like crazy, but doesn't bring much else, and has looked very disinterested fairly frequently this year.
I could see a signed Stone, and a mid-tier prospect, or a 2nd-3rd rounder.
I don't really think much of Laine though, so I could just be massively undervaluing him.

Im guessing a Kyle Conner/Brendan Lemieux or Nic Petan/1st package for Stone and Dzingel.

That might get you 1, not both lol.
Petan has no value, Lemieux has no value so it’s Kyle and the 1st
