I am loving this game. Only up to level 6 so far because I took a real long nap after work, the midnight release last night was a terrible idea.

One thing to keep in mind with Destiny is that this isn't a one-off experience either -- they'll be building in this world with expansion packs and eventual sequels for years, and from what I understand your character will carry all the way through with you.

I played for about an hour and thought it was pretty fun, even though I suck at FPS games, especially on consoles.

I was lucky enough to get in the Alpha so I jumped right in and been having a blast!
My buddy and I are up to level 9 and enjoying the tweaks they have made.
Feel free to add me at PSN:Skaloper

If my two best friends wouldn't have already had xbone, I almost definitely would have grabbed ps4, even though I dislike ps controllers.

Only up to level 4 but it is lots of fun.
Wouldn't say it is is game changing in terms of the mechanics but just a fun game to play.
Also works great on remote play, will be a good game to play on the Vita while watching a Flames game.
Only negative is the menus are kind of a pain in the ass at first, but you get used to it.

Hit level five this morning before work. I hate MMO's and most FPS's, but this game has me hooked, hard!

The great thing I find about this game is, its completely soloable up to this point, but man it would be fun with buddies. I don't think you've missed much. You'll pound through the first 5-6 levels in about 2 hours.
Try to play with a fire team, it seems to make the experience better imo.

With leveling being such a low/quick cap, you'll probably find yourself making multiple characters before you know it. Already at Lv15 Warlock and planning on making a Defender Titan.
Only thing I wish it we could skip the silly tutorial mission at the start.

Yeah kind of surprising. Sounds like there's going to be a wide range of review scores from 10's to 7.5's. To me it feels like a combination of Halo and Borderlands. Some of the opening missions I have played are pretty basic fetch missions so nothing really revolutionary so far but I am not even close to the meat of the game yet. Found out the hard way that playing "Very Hard" missions at a low level is futile even if you have two higher level players fighting with you. Seems pretty fun although the story isn't as captivating as Halo.

I am seeing a lot of mixed reviews from users too. Getting a Titanfall vibe from what I've seen so far. By that I mean the game is just okay. Sounds like Destiny has a bit of an identity crisis.

I had a pretty good time playing with a buddy last night. I agree it's nothing groundbreaking, but it looks nice and plays pretty well.
What are the knocks people have on it?

I worked my way up to level 5 before taking a break....it's seems good, I struggled a bit with weapons, but once I had some cash and levels under my belt I was able to go to the armoury and gun up. Now multiplayer should be a bit more fair

So far the only issue I've got is repetitive missions, but I'm also not very far into the game, so it's possible it opens up a bit more soon.

Yeah I think I'm only level 4, and we didn't do much of the story but it seemed like the ones we did were 'go fetch'. We did do some free roam/jobs which was ok.
It was fun taking your vehicle around the map instead of running everywhere. It's not hard to get XP when freeroaming, there are a lot of spawn points.

Weak/lack of story, inability to communicate with strangers easily and the repetitive missions/enemy types.
Can't disagree about the story. Lots of references to things that aren't explained and not a lot of back development.
I thought having proximity chat would b a must but after being in a couple 3 man fireteams, it's already chaotic just chatting as it is. Still I would like to be able to pull up to a stranger and see if they help or be able to verbally ask to invite to a party rather than the annoying multi layer invite system.
Haven't noticed the blandness of missions playing with friends as we just take detours finding treasures and exploring.
Certainly not quite GOTY material though it'll probably win that. Bungie's painted a beautiful setting with solid mechanics in the core game play. They just have to fill in this picture better. As mentioned before, this is a long term game so I anticipate some of these issues will be changed or improved but I'm just having fun at the moment.
