Think Seattle wants hockey? They've sold 25k season ticket deposits and reached 10k in 12 minutes.

The new arena will hold 17,500. Not all of the 25k will get season tickets, some will be partials (priority based on when order was received). Also 5k of the deposits were for club seats ($1000 down). BTW - the system did crash at one point

Interest is there for sure, but in this day of electronic ticketing, pretty good chance you can make a tidy profit selling each game by game ticket in a teams inaugural season, from afar, and through Ticketmaster’s own site now.
My buddy and I purchased a pair VK tickets for this season. Between he and I we have made it down for 10, found friends that cheer for other teams that took another 6. Selling was difficult at first but has picked up during the second half for sure on the games we cant go to. Cheap flights from here to there was the only reason we even thought about it....

That's very true.
I wonder if they put any restrictions on distance for this type of thing?
Looking more like a reality Seattle will be new team. if they are granted a franchise how will the rules impact the flames players and the protection list 1 year later

If they're looking at starting in the 2020-21 season, it's hard to guess what the Flames' protected list will look like because they currently only have 5 players under contract into that season: Monahan, Gaudreau, Backlund, Giordano, and Hamilton.
Of them, Gio is the only one who might be left unprotected, depending on what happens with the other d-men and the prospects who are coming up. A lot can change in two years.

I'm on the season ticket waiting list for the Seattle Seahawks, and they have a restriction to the Pacific North West, along with BC and Alberta. So I wouldn't be surprised if they did the same thing
