Mont Surat is fantastic. Navigating the train and ticket situation, not so much. There is a good guide online how to do it. Take the gondola option, it is a bit quicker. My recommendation is to go early, see all the town stuff, then take the first funicular up, then hike to the top. It's more of an easy walk than a real hike. Bring a lunch and a little bottle of wine.

Oh, and book your ticket to Sagrada Familia way ahead of time. I think it was worth going up the tower as well, we went up the old side that wasn't under construction.
Oh ya, the Picasso museum is great(I seem to remember a big line, but also booking a time?). Don't lean in to closely to get a look unless you enjoy a piercing alarm and a security guard staring at you disapprovingly.
I got really annoyed by all the hawker guys I heard with these kazoo things while I was there. They seemed to be everywhere, but especially in the tourist areas. I learned to ignore them after 1-2 days of being there though.

Barcelona was the first stop on my honeymoon, and I absolutely loved it. The metro is by far the best way to get around the city, it will be worth it to buy monthly passes.
We went to Tartine Café on Avinguda Diagonal for breakfast every morning for coffee / tea and Bocadillo (little sandwiches with cured meats and cheese). I have yet to have anything like it since.
Final year of Master of Architecture; the first semester is there (or Tokyo depending on your preference).
Studio is run by a local architect.

That's so great. Awesome city for architecture. You'll find all the cool spots I'm sure. You could add the Dali museum in Figueras to your list of museums.

Figured out the train/cable car ticket fairly easily.
We hiked up to the Sant Jeroni peak from the top of the cable car; the first part of the trail that you miss by taking the funicular is definitely significantly harder!

Don’t even consider a restaurant meal before 10 pm
Just because most people don't eat until then doesn't mean you shouldn't. If you followed the culture then all you'd seemingly do is smoke, drink beer, and never eat more than small bites of tapas.
We ate every day between 6 and 7pm.
Edit: go to this https://goo.gl/maps/e8UQRqtw7csr7B7j9 park in the evening! There were so many things going on and the people watching was unbelievable. Anything from dogs playing, to a soccer game, to jugglers/other 'showman' practicing.
An environment in which a person encounters only beliefs or opinions that coincide with their own, so that their existing views are reinforced and alternative ideas are not considered.

If you were really following the culture you'd eat a big meal at 2 pm and then smaller bites throughout the day. That's not a bad way to eat at all.
