But still the Foundation had $6.5 million in unrestricted cash waiting to be given away as of their most recent public set of financial statements. That is unnecessarily large and seems to be a recurring issue for them.
From what I can tell, CSEC donates very little to the Foundation as nothing is disclosed in the related party footnotes. And the Foundation reimburses the Flames for things like office space and employee payroll.
When the Flames foundation talk about their contributions to amateur sports, playgrounds, charities etc., it is really the fans money that is being donated.
I mean it's a good thing that the Foundation coordinates the 50/50 and everything. But I suspect many people believe the Flames owners are putting more forward than they are.

Same thing with the Saddledome Foundation's annual donations to Hockey Canada, Winsport and the Parks Foundation. Nominally that's money that has been donated by the Flames.
... in lieu of rent.

This was my wife. "DOUBLEF, CALL MY PHONE SO I CAN LISTEN FOR THE VIBRATIONS!"
I got her an Apple Watch that can ring the phone even when on silent, and now I don't have to call her or go on hunts around the house for her phone.
If you use an android, I'm not sure what watches have that feature, but you can get a Key smart pro that can be used to find your keys via your phone or vice versa use your keys to find your phone. You just have to charge it for an hour or two every 3-4 months or so.

I don't air tag my wallet, but maybe I should. I definitely use find my phone/apple watch for my phone because my wife or kids enjoy wandering off with it on a regular basis.

Not really a 'booth' but the bench seating in that circular bar in the middle.

Ah, cool. I went to the one by the Dome last year after we lost to the Oilers and it was packed with Edmonton people. I just sat at the first chair that was open and didn't really walk around much. And I have no idea how many casinos are in Calgary.

I leave for a business trip on Sunday, and suddenly today my wallet vanished. I had only stepped out to grab lunch through a drive through, and when I left the house to get my daughter, I couldn't find it.
I tore through the entire house, car, looked around my front yard to see if I could find it. Spent hours trying to find it, with an increased sense of panic.
Then started to think about how the heck I would be able to travel without any credit cards, bank cards, etc. I called both my credit card companies to see if they could fast track a new card to me - surprisingly the earliest turnaround is about a week. Lame.
I held back canceling the cards in hopes I could find it. Knowing if I did, I would be sure to find it right after.
Even though I tore my car apart multiple times, I finally found it wedged down in the smallest and deepest space between my seat and the middle console. I have no idea how it could get down there so far. But there it was.

Tile is a life saver. WELL worth the price and the $40 a year subscription to be told when you leave it behind. Glad you found yours.

Self-quote Sin. Sue me.
With Tile you can push the tile and use it to find your phone as well. I have one on my keys, wallet, laptop and airpods. Have used them multiple times. Big fan.

I was gambling, but the amount I lost was easily made up for because the price of a ride to the hotel from that place after an hour or two was about 1/10 the price from the Dome.

Out-fatassed my suits. Supposed to go to a wedding pretty soon. Have a million things other than a suit to spend money on right now, but can’t stand anything affordable.

A tailor might be able to take them out to fit. Still an unfortunate extra cost.

I went the other way, I have a nice suit that is noticeably too big for me now. Maybe we should trade?
Any recommendations / ball park pricing for having a suit taken in?

Seamed (heyoo) to cost me about $10-$15 per “thing”. Like the back, sleeves, pant waist, etc.

Henry’s. Been a couple of years but the gentleman at Heritage was fantastic, apparently the Marda Loop lady is excellent too.

So I’ve sort of been offered a potential ‘promotion’ that I thought was going to be a good step in my career path…turns out it’s feeling an awful lot more like a will smith sized slap in the face. It’s like they’re going out of their way to make it as meaningless and void as possible while creating this whole to-do & hurrah about it.
GMG I’ve spent a decade working towards a future here and this is what it culminates in.
