interesting how the Dmen are settling in here- an award so rarely won by D, but now 2/3 of the finalists are both D and same as last year

this article is a little infuriating because they only posted points and didn't post PIM or anything else that would make a case for them winning the Byng

For me I always admired people that can play the game hard but penalty free. Lindstrom as amazing at this. Slavin is probably the winner based on that. Can be dominant defensively but doesn't take penalties.

Johnny lost his nomination when he put Durzi to sleep with the reverse chokehold slam.

Didn't Spurgeon receive a $5000 fine for a nasty cross-check a few weeks ago? One that a lot of people thought might be suspension-worthy? Not saying he's a goon, but this seems like a weird choice.

That was in Game 1, so voting would have been over.

At the risk of sounding misogynistic, but the award should be named for someone more closely associated with the game, in keeping with the criteria.

I would re-name it the Nik Lindstrom. Seriously.

Yeah, a modern era namesake. A European as well.

Well if we are going to name the trophy after him, we should probably get his name right

I'd suggest the Val Fonteyne award

Just saw a tweet wondering where McDavid's name was. I said he was up for the Louganis.

Joakim Lindstrom? I'm not sure, 58 PIMs in 150 games isn't very "penalty free".

OK, I'll buy that. So who do you want to rename the Stanley Cup after?

Datsyuk won it 4 times but you don't want it named after an active or just retired guy. Ron Francis won it 3X but he's a current GM. Same for MSL - he's a coach.

Bossy won it 3 times - that would ne nice.

Frank Boucher (who?) won it 7 times. Red Kelly 4X, Bobby Bauer, Delvecchio 3X.

as for the Stanley Cup:
