Managed to snag an FE at that extremely competitive price (compared to the AiBs) in the first 2m of launch, parked on the side of the road.
Hot tip: login to BestBuy beforehand and make sure your payment info is up to date.
Submitted my conversion cable request to Seasonic as well. Quite a few hoops to jump through for that one, but I suspect it might take a while to get here. Chances seem high I'll have a $2000 paperweight sitting on my desk for a couple weeks while I wait for the part to arrive.

Ah I guess the FE comes with a 4xPCIe > 12VHPWR dongle, so I can just use that while I wait.
Also the Seasonic cable is just that; an actual 600w 12VHPWR cable that plugs directly into the PSU. No regrets buying a 1000w Titanium to power this setup then.

Not sure why everyone doesn't just use 90 degree connectors. I struggle to think of a situation where it would be appreciably worse.

What Seasonic PSU do you have? I have a 100W Seasonic that I bought a couple of years ago. I don't know if I'm getting a 4090 but I am curious about this cable program that they're offering.
I'm thinking of jumping on the 4090 bandwagon. How much would you figure a used 3080Ti (Strix OC) would return? Looking at Kijiji the prices are hovering around $1K. Does that sound reasonable? Anyone else selling their used cards to finance the new card?
(hopefully this question is not against the rules...if it is I'm happy to delete)

Prime Ultra Titanium (TX-1000).
I just bought it ~3 months ago so I qualify for the free cable, but as noted it's restricted to purchases made within the last 12 months. You have to photograph the box, and upload your receipt/proof of purchase of a 4090 as well lol

Oh cool. Well, I'm halfway there. I bought a PX-1000 on December 12, 2021 from Amazon. So I just need to buy the card and I'm good to go!

Damn was hoping the rumors of performance was fake as they have always been in the past. Speculation was Nvidia was not prepared that the 6950xt was going to trade blows with the 3090 so this t8me around Nvidia decided not to artificially limit the 4000 series launch. Didn't think I'd want to upgrade my 3090 oc card but taking full advantage of oled at 175hz is tempting. Still think I'll wait till 13 gen is out driver for 4000 series are completely solid and see what rdna 3 has to offer .
Think I'll wait another 6 ro 8 months then do what most people do and go back to the 5 year upgrade cycle . I mean I'm still happy with my 3090 steix and 5900xt with crosshair board and dominator ram setup. If I dont turn the fps counter on I'd really never know but a 13th gen cpu with a strix 4090 on oled 175hz is so damn tempting......
DLSS 3 sounds only useful for higher end cards. 4060, 4070 and maybe 4080 versions won't achieve high enough framerates to hide artifacting, stuttering and latency from the fake frames. It may be OK at 1080p and maybe 1440p but not 4K. It sounds too similar to turning on motion smoothing on TV's.

Agreed. 90 and 270 degree adapters are awesome.
I think in the past it wasn't a huge deal, but with some of the extra insulation and stuff in the cables, they are getting really damn stiff now. Instead of only saving half an inch, "L" shaped cables are saving 2-3 inches now on some of the stiffer cables. I've noticed this with recently like HDMI and ethernet cables.
People are already scalping the things for $3000, which is pretty funny.
I dunno, Gamers Nexus benchmarks have it pretty much exactly doubling performance of my 3080 FTW3 in all their higher res testing which just... I mean yep that's impressive, but only even accessible / appreciable in a few titles like Cyberpunk and not really worth an upgrade from the 3000 series for most people, certainly not for the price difference. I'm not exactly regretting my $800 3080 purchase earlier in the summer, at this point. We'll see in a year or so if the titles being put out vs price at that time make it seem worthwhile.
