Default Playoff expectations

What is success? What is a failure? The Flames put together a pretty good regular season but that’s been done before.

What result in the playoffs would you be expecting for the Flames?

What result would exceed expectations?

In terms of personal achievements, what do you expect of of each player? What kind of performance from Gaudreau or Tkachuk makes you throw 12+ million at them? What performance has you wishing them luck in UFA?

Is Last Canadian Team Standing something you care about?

Realistically, minimum expectation is to get to the 3rd round, but of course winning the cup will be the best!

If they don’t get to the final four it’s a failure. If they don’t win the cup, I’ll just be sad.

I just checked Air Canada's website, and I have enough points to for a return trip to Calgary for my son and I in June.

It'd be his first time on a plane and his first NHL game.

I'd prefer if the poor child wasn't disappointed.

Really depends how you look at it.

Since we haven't won a first round in 7 years... I will say 2nd round but that's bare minimum and it really should be a long close series... on the other hand.. hired a veteran proven winner coach, added players, 2nd best season in franchise history, home ice for 2 rounds, etc. We should be in the 3rd.

I guess what i am trying to say is we should be in the 3rd but making it to the 2nd round- since we never do.. would not be colossal failure that a first round exit would be this year.

I would be happy with a trip to the WC finals.

Bare minimum is win a round and absolutely destroy Edmonton if they come up against them in the 2nd round.

Bare minimum is a series win. Anything less would be a failure.

Expectation = win first two rounds. Anything less = failure. There's no excuse for losing to Dallas, Edmonton, or LA. Western Conference Championship would be better than expected unless Colorado loses out in the second round. Stanley Cup win would be great but unexpected this year.

More likely than not the last Canadian team standing.

Gaudreau and Tkachuk should each get at least ten points, or I will be disappointed.

I'm hoping for a championship, but two things must happen for me to feel good, one win a round, and if the 2nd round is against the Oilers, they HAVE to beat them. The stain of losing to them in 1991 still rubs me wrong.

Flames have the pieces to win a Cup.

My expectation is to win two rounds. Anything less is disappointing.

In all seriousness, I just want them to win the next game.

That's all.

Win the next game.

Because of the Flames' playoff luck since the 1989 Cup, a first round series win is satisfying enough for me. Anything else after is a bonus.

Please. Don't give us a millionth opening round exit.

Expectations: play hard every game. No off nights, no off shifts.
Play the right way and the team should be successful.

We expect to beat Dallas

If we play Edmonton in the 2nd round we HAVE to beat them

I don't think anyone can expect them to beat Colorado

Like 2004, I will be ecstatic jumping up & down if they win one game and do not get swept like in 1996.

The secret to life is managing expectations.
