This is a huge problem. I don't know how we even begin to address it, and ultimately fix it.
The extremely vocal voice of a very small minority are hijacking our democratic processes. Troubling.

Levity aside, the halting of the Dakota Access pipeline is precedent setting, and dangerously so.
This isn't KXL, where a large part of the construction was not underway. DAPL is a project that has received all required permits, and is currently under construction.
Further, a federal judge ruled that the consultation process undertaken by the company was adequate to address the FN concerns. The U.S. government unilaterally delaying the project for no reason other than "environment" is insane.

Well, TCPL has basically started saying "F it" and suing the government over this stuff rather than trying to work with them. You'd have to think other companies will follow suit (no pun intended).

I can't even imagine the difficulty flying a 2000bbl tank of oil. The effect that the giant mass of rolling liquid in the center of the plane would seriously affect handling.

They make bladders for that. There was an episode of uh, that airplane show with Buffalo, anyway they put a big bladder in, filled it with fuel and flew it north. I'm assuming it had baffles in it.
Obviously that was a satire article, but maybe we could load up those water bombers with oil and drop them on protesters.

The best thing about This is That is the angry calls it provokes. The fact so many people fall for it illustrates how goofy public sensibilities in Canada have become (not to mention how good the creators are at satire).

I'm thinking this might be a solution to BC's Forest Fire problems.

Just burn it all to the ground and salt oil the earth behind you.
Problem solved.

I don't have a link but I think Kramerica Industries makes a bladder which is much more mainstream then the one you provided.
Weird I can't find their website.

TCPL sued because of pipelines like Dakota Access - pipelines that served similar fields and were basically direct competitors to Keystone XL were approved without incident, while a foreign company was treated differently and XL was rejected.
By retroactively rejecting Dakota Access, they may neuter the main points in TransCanada's NAFTA claim against them, while appeasing some of their fringe elements.
Also it's ridiculous. I'm curious whether Energy Transfer can sue or somehow get damages for this.
