have to say - I am very surprised that Vladar is starting, would have thought this was a good opportunity to give Markstrom some work

Markstrom is struggling mentally, and Vladar has been good. While it's good to get Markstrom going, the team needs to start banking "easy" points, which means icing the best roster.

Is it though? We are at a critical juncture here with some soft teams and we need to start picking up wins, we can't take chances with what seems like a mentally broken goalie at the moment.

I'm not saying it's a must win tonight, but this is a game the Flames need to have in order to get back to where they want to be.
I think your riding Vladar for at least a couple more games. But I would imagine Markstom will be back in net as early as Friday against the Jackets, but regardless, it's go time for this group, and a 4-1 homestand (assuming they can win the next 2 games) would really put some momentum in their court.
