Arya being the one to finish it off was pretty disappointing. WTF was that?
Maybe I need more time to process it but Im not feeling how that played out right now at all.
That being said, that was probably my favorite single episode of television that I can remember.

I dunno, I kinda liked it. Mary Sue John Snow gets a little boring.

Action scenes were so, so good. A match for any feature movie. Unrelenting.
But the slow scenes were painfully dumb. Arya goes from a fearless killing machine cutting through hordes of enemies one minute to a trembling little girl hiding from three zombies in a haunted house the next because... they needed a change of tone to suspense/horror? And Sansa and Tyrion having a wistful eye-gazing moment while women and children were being slaughtered only a few feet away was just strange.
Surprised to see only five named characters bite it.

Agreed. Not sure how I feel about the ending yet. Didn’t like how Arya was the one to do it. If anything, she should have died in the process.

Did anyone else find it really too dark to be enjoyable? I struggled the entire episode to see what was going on.

I was hoping that a non-Stark would finish the job. I was hoping that at least one Starks would die in tonight's episode.
They have way too much plot armor at this point. Most of them are completely OP.
Melisandre made the episode pretty cool. Everything she says and does ends up having quite a bit of impact.

Without cheating to the spoilers, finished season two and started season 3 this weekend.
That battle at Kings landing and the screams of the burning was horrific to watch. Loved the scene of cercei on the throne with her youngest with the poison, she's pretty wicked and evil, but you could see her decision was ripping her apart. Loved Tyrions speech that is now my signature. the battle itself was brutal and bloody after a season that seemed short of it.
Finally saw the white walkers up close at the end of they year.
Dany's and the dragons just almost seems out of place, but her desperation and looking at a slave army was clearly tearing her apart. She needs to grow up if she wants to be queen.
I really regret not watching this series before, I but I'm happy that I can watch it straight through because there's lots to keep track of.

That's pretty amazing.
Kinda shocked it ended this episode, I mean I should have seen it coming given all the "this is my last stand" shots being beaten over my head but still, I figured it'd be more complicated (along the lines of fleeing and then there's another stand).
3 more episodes? Kinda disappointed that the finale will be about the petty squabbles over power, the zombie problem seems like it is the main theme of the story (since that's where it started), not a delivery mechanism for political struggles.
I was hoping for some more lore / mythology stuff.
Still, that's about as good as TV gets, my heart's still pumping.

3 more episodes?
My good man, the series ended tonight. Yup indeed. No more episodes. What a finale!

Yup, wrapped up that overarching story.
I mean what else could they do at this point but Cleganebowl and then Cersei ending up on the throne since the North has no army now. Who wants to watch that?
That's why it's good that there's no more episodes.

I honestly wonder if they test-screened this over a streaming service. I was fiddling with my brightness and backlighting for the whole episode.

Flashbacks to the first 20 minutes of Solo. I get the story reasoning and the technical reasoning, it's probably way more forgiving for CGI work in the dark scenes, but it was hard to see. Which is a shame.

Also, can we take a moment here to really appreciate how useless Bran is as a character?
Wasn't this conflict basically his whole raison d'etre? He wargs into some birds and then does nothing all episode? I guess there's a chance he has some major role in the war that's upcoming, but jesus christ, the whole Three-eyed Raven/Night King beef was a thing and it just amounted to so much nothing. His entire purpose was bait? Did we really have to suffer through so many of his scenes if he was just bait? haha
