Russia apparently hates the Chernobyl series and has promised to make their own series to counter American propaganda. Instead of the disaster, the Russian series will focus on the American spy's infiltration of the Chernobyl power plant and the KGB spies that tried to stop them... lol. Putin's skin is almost as thin as Trumps.
I find it odd that Russia doesn't like the HBO mini-series when Craig Mazin in the podcast says that only the Soviets would have been able to pull off the cleanup/recovery. He goes on to say that if this was the US the graphite would still be on the ceiling with a massive exclusion zone.
He's likely right as a western country likely wouldn't send biorobots on that roof.

This is a victim of circumstance. A Western company would have opted for the cheapest option.
Its not like there hasnt been poisoned waterways or or chemical spills in North America.

HBO already did a great job showing how heroic, brave, and capable of sacrifice the Russian people were when face with an impossible situation. Only the Soviet government leaders and political officers, especially the KGB, were shown to be in a negative light.
Sadly those same KGB agents are now in charge of the Russian government.
Can Mods move the in thread discussions to the Chernobyl thread?
Finally got around to watching True detectives (season 1). Fantastic.
I'm 2 (or 3?) episodes into season 2, but it seems to kind of suck; is it worth powering through? I've heard season 3 is good.
