Re: Eric Francis, I would almost guarantee that the Monday Eric Francis hour is paid for by him to get him exposure and keep him relevant. My understanding is that he pays for his Friday hits (via sponsorship by the Beltliner). He was writing all the cheesy little commercial skits about how Rob Kerr and Eric Francis hate each other, so tune in and listen.
He's the modern day Jungle Jim Hunter buying airtime to get on the radio.

Both Pinder and Wills were calling games in the AHL around the same time. I'm curious of the exact timing when they each joined 960, but (just a guess) I'm thinking Pinder's probably a little frustrated that Wills is calling Flames games instead of him.

I listened to this yesterday as it was happening.
Truly an amazing few minutes of live radio and absolutely hilarious. Glad it was put on twitter.

Except Jungle Jim Hunter has things to say and I appreciate his perspective, especially around the summer Olympics when I'm not predisposed to care.

Was not expecting this to be the announcement. That sucks, i really liked having the guy that actually played giving his perspective rather then radio guys giving there opinions.

Does this open a full time spot for Krahn?

Doesn't Krahn have a decent job? I doubt he would leave it to work early mornings on the radio.

No, he won't be on TV, he just said how much he hated doing it before.
My guess is he'll enjoy all his money even more now without having to get up at 4am.

Did Rhett just mention he’d like to get into coaching? But seemed to indicate it’s not something in his immediate future.

Maybe? Rhett made stupid good money. They could probably give Krahn a slice of that to beat his current salary? Honestly have no clue.

Well that is a pretty big blow to 960. I find it already pretty weak compared to sports radio here in BC. Very unfortunate indeed. Hopefully they don't just stick with this summer crew as they just aren't entertaining enough.

Hopefully Boomer goes too, and they can start fresh. Both of these guys checked out years ago.
Krahn would be a solid choice....especially since I'm reminded of John Candy every time he talks.

Really? I disagree. The last couple of weeks without either Boomer or Rhett was pretty bad to listen to. I think Peter Klein is ok, but he's not ready to carry a show. And nasally Will Nault has never been good.

I can't see this situation getting any better.
It seems like what the Fan pays isn't enough to attract any legitimate talent, but they can't really afford to pay much better. Without legitimate talent, they have fewer listeners and less money.
Every time a new guy is added to the Fan, he's worse than the guy that left, it seems.
I don't listen much right now as I'm biking to work, but when I was driving a lot in the mornings, I would cringe if Rhett was on vacation, or not on.

This could be shaping up to be a bad day. Rhett retires, the arena deal could be scuttled, Stone isn't bought out, salad for supper, etc

The fact that they seem to hire the cheapest labor with all the collage graduates, the only thing they have going is Pat, Pinder, boomer and on the rare occasion,Peter Klein. He’s pro basketball, ‘and I’m not at all, it makes it hard for me to stay tuned in when he starts talking anything Basketball. Rhett started phoning it in around winter 2017 or maybe even slightly earlier. > IMO < they need to being a talent that has experience and can hold a show, like Pinder could. And be willing to pay them just a little more.
