Wish Dallas or NJ would get involved. I've heard enough trade rumors with other Canadian teams for a lifetime this year. I never want to spend this much time thinking about the Leafs or Canucks assets ever again

They can have Rooney.

True.

But if I'm Conroy, I want a 1st just for the privilege of paying half of Coleman's salary for the next three years. That's more money than the Habs took on with Monahan.

Tanev (50%) + Coleman ($1.9M) --> Brodie + 1st + Cowan + Niemela
I don't know any of these prospect, are they A prospect? Or B prospect. IDK, Coleman has been playing great this season, we could probably get a 1st by trading him alone at trade deadline? I just really do not want to help out Treliving and the Leafs in any shape or form.

Oh! I thought you meant that the Leafs would only be taking on $1.9m of Coleman's salary. My bad.

I'm still wanting a biggish asset for paying that extra $5.7m over the next three years.

Cowan was a late 1st rounder last year, who is killing it in the OHL. And he is a C

Niemela was a 3rd rounder in 2020 who is a right-shot D who is looking good on the Marlies

A 1st and those 2 is a package I would be a pretty nice return

I’m picturing Craig and Brad’s trade negotiation texts just being gifs back and forth.

Is there a 3rd team involved to get the salary down so low?

50% on Tanev = $2.25M

$1.9M retained on Coleman = $3M to the Leafs

This isn't that hard people

Enoch means the Flames would retain $1.9m and the Leafs would pay the other $3m. I made the same mistake you did.

So that would be $5.25M in for the Leafs and $5M out. But remember, it's 2 bodies in and one body out, so they also save a replacement level contract and would be net positive for the cap

What if one of the big four comes back?

Maybe this is a blockbuster deal, more than just Tanev and Bread.
