Maybe they were working on something and couldn't reach a deal with the artists. Even CBS brought it up multiple times which leads me to believe it wasn't just a baseless rumor.

Trump was big mad, called in to Fox, his safe space. Then they had to basically cut him off because his ranting wasnt doing him any favors and they had a schedule to keep. Trump then calls in to Newsmax to continue his bitchfest. He was totally not triggered by tonight.

Don't forget hunters and everyday gun owners, this alone could scoop a tonne of votes in swing states where they normally vote red just to protect their silly 2nd amendment rights.

The idea that Bill Clinton "consolidates party unity" or something like that is just silly in 2024. Just look at this thread, the guy is polarizing.
If you don't like polarization within Democrats, you should be against them doing unnecessarily polarizing things.
I've been listening to DNC analysis all day, and no one had anything positive to say about Clinton being here. Either it was ignored completely (most common, most people don't care), or people made fun of his speech was too long and kind of painful to listen to, or the more progressives were saying "don't they realize that thus guy epitomizes what's wrong with the Democrats to everyone who doesn't like Democrats?
Clinton's legacy is primarily three things: open trade and those global trade agreemenrs which are quite unpopular these days, de-regulation of markets which is also very unpopular with lot of people for extremely good reasons, and being a sex predator.
He's a manifestation of things Democrats don't want people to remember. Some past is best buried.
I would argue that at this point Hillary likely has more actual fans, and she's not exactly popular either.
The people who like him are probably mostly hardcore party loyalists already, while the people who don't like him are people they are trying to convince.
Dems can be super tone deaf at times, and this was an example of it.

Also the crime bill which led to a dramatic increase in the prison population which was largely growing because of minority inmates.

After much speculation, Vice President Harris, now the Democratic nominee for president, came out with the strongest remarks so far on where she stands on the Israel-Hamas war and the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
"Let me be clear, I will always stand up for Israel's right to defend itself and I will always ensure Israel has the ability to defend itself," she said tonight. She said that Israelis should "never again" go through the horror and "unspeakable" attacks of Oct. 7.

Because the people of Israel must never again face the horror that the terrorist organization Hamas caused on October 7th. Including unspeakable sexual violence and the massacre of young people at a music festival.
At the same time, what has happened in Gaza over the past 10 months is devastating. So many innocent lives lost. Desperate, hungry people fleeing for safety, over and over again. The scale of suffering is heartbreaking.
President Biden and I are working to end this war such that Israel is secure, the hostages are released, the suffering in Gaza ends, and the Palestinian people can realize their right to dignity, security, freedom... and self-determination.

Painting a picture? Nobody needs to do that. Just look at their current policy.
That is what will continue.
3, 2, 1.....waiting for everyone to say how that is the correct policy going forward now that Harris supports it.

Are you kidding me? I watched it live, a lot of us did, and I knew as soon as she was done someone like you would do exactly what did in quoting just the first part of her comment. What a donkey move on your part, but not unexpected at all. You biased goof.

I’m confused by who this poster thinks would base their perception of a singular policy on the difference between whether Biden or Harris supports it.
This type of superficial, unearned smugness over what people think they know about other posters is always bizarre, but becomes even more so when the actual assumptions don’t make any sense in the first place.

Actually this part of the section is notably more pro-Palestine than the Biden administration has been to date. It's still a tightrope walk obviously but there is at least a bit of daylight between her and the current policy there.
Of course I don't expect the people protesting outside to be in any way placated by that but there was nothing she could have realistically done that would have satisfied them.

Watching it live it felt like the best you’re going to get at a convention for supporting the Palestinian people. In the context of American politics and public statements it would have to be considered the biggest public endorsement of Palestine given by a presidential candidate.

But not if you edit out the second part of her comments, like Azure did. Then it's completely pro Israel.
