I thought it was a good start to the season, as it didn't deal with anything more deeply then what the Bad Batch was up to and how they were going to survive.
Spoiler!
/while Hunter still remains the somewhat gruff and surly father figure to Omega, Echo has certainly become that kindly uncle that acts as a reassuring force.
They're doing the same thing to Omega that they did to Ashoka in the Clone Wars as they subtly changed her physical appearance to let her grow up.
The return to Dooku's palace and especially office was awesome with Wrecker commenting that it felt I think Creepy.
Omega and Tech might just be the brains of the operation.
Now we're seeing one of the reasons why the Clones are going to be phased out. They just can't be corrupted. When Admiral Rapport demands that Captain Wilco remove the Bad Batch from his report so Tarkin basically does get angry, Rapport executes him. Basically the Clones even with the inhibitor chip activated which wiped out a lot of their individuality still are driven by a moral and ethical code that can't be broken.
Still seeing Force 99 trying to avoid the killing of their brothers is still somewhat heart breaking. Usually an action like that will cost you big time down the road.
No real overall plot progression, with Cross Hairs or for example Tarkin. No sign of the new Storm Troopers either.

Tales of the Jedi is awesome. Especially the Dooku stuff. Between that and the finial episodes of The Clone Wars, it’s such a shame that the same story could have been told as episodes 1-3, Lucas just chose the worst parts to tell.
The only thing I didn't like about Tales of the Jedi was how short the episodes were. Would have loved more content.
While true, I did get the impression that this was a 'dipping a toe in the water' to sort of determine the appetite for more.
I read an article a while back that one of the major benefits of Disney+ is that it gives Disney a lot more data and analytics to see what subscribers are watching which helps them gauge what they should be focusing more on.
So if Tales was a success based on their metrics then we'll probably get more content.

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.
We get Cody back.
He begins to question openly if the Empire is what he signed up to serve, especially after they brutal repress another world and kill the governor of the planet.
We get to see Clones and Troopers fighting Battledroids again.
There is no Bad Batch in this episode. This is a Crosshairs story.
In the end Cody goes AWOL.
The Clones are overcoming their inhibitor chips and questioning everything. Are we going to see a version of Order 66 where the conscripted Stormtroopers betray the Cone Troopers?

Binged the three last night with my son. Definitely liked the third episode the best.
Spoiler!
My son wondered if Cody is going to eventually meet up with Rex.
They've really after years of work really nailed down the animation, there were some absolutely beautiful scenes. The scenes in front of the memorial, the battle scene and using the reflective disks. The sound effects of the Droidikas rolling in was awesome. Even the music selection is great. Dee Bradley has done awesome work doing like ninety percent of the voice work and he makes each clone distinct.
Spoiler!
I expect that Cody will try to find Rex.
I was thinking when Rapport was talking to Crosshairs about Cody defecting and he indicated that a lot of Clones were going AWOL. I had to wonder how many actually went AWOL, and how many were murdered by Imperial Officers.
In legends there was a clone rebellion that lead to the 2nd battle of Kamino which was clone against clone violence. I think they're setting up for a general clone rebellion that will end up with a battle at the dead city on Kamino with the conscripted Storm Troopers against the Clone Troopers and the Clone Troopers will be pretty much wiped out.
Can the Empire provide comfortable beds for their troopers maybe, and how about letting them finish their meals?
While the talk is about the inhibitor chips failing and that's why Clones are defecting. I tend to wonder what would happen if someone like Cody were to come across a Jedi, would order 66 reactivate?
Great episode, and tremendously sad. Good to get some resolution with Cody and see that he didn't become just another Stormtrooper like he did in Legends where he became bitter and spiteful.

I wonder if Cody going AWOL is going to be a precursor for Crosshair to flip and try to join Unit 99 again. He dies in battle, but not before saving Omega and redeeming his honor.

I keep thinking that he didn’t actually have his inhibitor chip removed, or it was replaced with something to align his behavior closer to The Empire’s philosophy.
He did remove the chip himself. It didn't make a difference as he has a really simplified world view. Soldier's obey orders and have a certain amount of faith that what they're doing is right.
Crosshairs doesn't question policy or politics, just his individual results and the results of those around him.

Did he say he removed it himself? I thought he just said it was already removed, with no additional detail about who did it or whether that could be verified. The scar on his head isn’t necessarily evidence.
Yeah, I thought he said in the last couple of episodes of season 1 that he had removed it.
I remember that even before order 66 in the clone war episodes that he was very hardcore.
Which is what makes Crosshair an interesting character.
There are people in the world, and thus presumably the Star Wars Galaxy, that just want to make their way through their lives in a manner that they can comprehend and for him that means just being a 'Good Soldier' and doing what he's told.
We see that in the juxtaposition of the Bad Batch and Crosshair.
The Batch have to learn how to make their way through the Galaxy on their own. They've lived a lifetime of...'comfort' isnt strictly the right term, but their basic needs were provided for. They had meals provided, materiel, transport, basic supplies and logistics that they now have to come up with on their own and its a struggle for them, whereas Crosshair still operates under that umbrella.
I think its fairly evident that at some point this is going to come to a head for Crosshair. He will at some point have to cross his Rubicon.
Because while he just wants to be a Good Soldier and follow orders, he also routinely recognizes that those orders are often non-sensical and stupid. There will come a time where his conviction that 'He knows better' will come at the expense of just following orders.
Then we see whether he decides to re-join the Batch or strike out on his own or if he doubles down and starts looking to climb the Imperial ranks in order to be the one giving the orders rather than simply receiving them and blindly following them.

I think that Crosshair will have a noble end. He'll disobey orders and sacrifice himself to save either the batch, or a bunch of clones from Stormtroopers in a last stand for the ages.
We know how this is going to end, by Rogue one there aren't any clones.

dam it cap... spoiler stuff like that!!! let me guess... the next crazy thing you're going to say is something like everyone dies at the end of rogue one!

Sigh. Don't you think that would be a little too cliche and expected? He should just stay true to his character and wipe out the others, but I guess that isn't as Disney-esque as him doing a Darth Vader/Anakin or Kylo Ren/Ben Solo realization at the very end of things.
