Still, The Governor killing that first guy was a pretty fun moment.

that was the worst part. the Governor pulls out a gun and shoots the commander, and the rest of his squad just sits there with loaded weapons in hand doing nothing until they get shot. say they really do suck enough to get taken out by a bunch of rednecks, at the very least the Governor would be dead as well

I meant up until that point, after that is when it fell apart, totally agreed.

Yeah I was disappointed in that scene. It would have been better and a little more intense had some of them returned fire and killed a couple or at least wounded a couple of the Woodberrians.
Would've been interesting to see how the Governor handled his wounded and dead and how he would explain it to the towns people.

I think the batteries are there for the lights, ect. I thought I spotted a similar battery rack in an earlier scene.
Agree with all the above comments on the soldiers scene - it was very weak. In particular as these particular soldiers were on alert, heavily armed and ready for action. They have presumably already survived months of the zombie apocalypse so not exactly fng's.

I didn't have too big of an issue with the soldiers being ambushed. We've seen it a few times before, where complacency leads to someone's demise. The soldiers weren't expecting anything, especially not from other living humans, and got taken by surprise.

Really cool episode, I agree with the comments on the fight scene, I was thinking the same things watching. Still, it is a series about zombies, so we've already been through a lot of unbelievable scenarios.
I think the heads are being kept for the purpose of seeing if they can revive them to a human state again. The governor's longing look at his past family with the comment that he believes they still keep their personality inside somewhere seems to hint to that. As well, they can be used for experimentation if they are kept in a 'living' state. We've already seen that they were experimenting on 'living' heads. We also know that a severed head is still 'living'. The aquariums are just used to keep them alive indefinitely.

I don't know about that. They welcomed the governor with all their rifles pointed at him when he first drove up to their site. Seemed that they thought initially he could be a potential threat.

that is 100% not the case. Besides why would he behead a recovering helicopter pilot?

The same reason he killed the rest of the squadron. He no longer needed anything from the pilot, and a healthy military person would be a threat.

Oh. I meant he killed the pilot because he's an evil SOB and not because he wants to create frankenzombies.

One super unrealistic scene for every 2 to 3 episodes.
If they can keep that kind of pace up, season 3 will be a massive improvement on Season 2.

I thought the scene at the beginning where the helicopter comes down, and Andrea and Michonne watch the guys come and grab the pilot was unrealistic as well. You don't survive months of the zombie apocalypse by being casual, first thing you would do is secure the area by sweeping it and making SURE you are safe. Plus, if you're looking for survivors, you would search at least the immediate area in case someone managed to crawl/walk a ways away from the wreck.
I realize it's all for the convenience of telling the story, but it sure feels like laziness. I certainly wouldn't use the series as any kind of training film when the dead do actually rise, unless it's to demonstrate what not to do.

Cause he killed his mates to take the supplies?
There's 100 reasons why he would have killed that guy. Most of them ending with its just simpler and easier.

that response was for your theory that he is keeping the heads as some sort of science experiment. He has them in the aquarium for his own pleasure. not to re-animate them back into a human state.

So I was watching Survivor last night, and does former baseball pro Jeff Kent not look like the Governor?

Fine, he's a sicko . Still a decent theory. Wish this was like Breaking Bad where no one knew how it ended and we could speculate for fun.
