Off topic from last night but daughter had a good theory of who may have been watching Carol. Maybe it was someone from Randal's group, the guy that Rick pulled off the iron fence in season 2.

I noticed the batteries too and thought maybe it was a happy little torture room.

First time Rick and the main group haven't been featured in any episode?

Didn't notice until the end.

The Governor is totally bad-ass.

It may have been just me, but it sure sounded like the helicopter was shot down. Were those not gunshots that I heard when hell started breaking out on the helicopter?

Or just the helicopter banging and making it's own noise...?

Would the Governor shoot down a helicopter?

Interesting. I forgot about Randal's group. Must be little pockets of people all over the place. Looks like next week this mysterious forest-watcher opens up the gate to the prison and lets all the walkers in to attack Rick's group.

IMO, worse episode yet, however interesting. I miss the main group.

when the governor was talking with the pilot, he was talking about how rough the trip was on the helicopter when they bolted from wherever they were staying before, and i remember seeing a lowbed or something similar that would have been carrying the chopper when the governor's group ambushed the military guys. so it looks like rough roads and poor maintenance took out the chopper

How is that the worst episode? i guess you must have missed season 1 and 2.

Not every episode can be gang busters. This episode set up a tonne of things and really set up Woodbury and The Governor nicely.

The head at the top of the zombie aquarium pyramid was the lone chopper survivor I think.

Yup. I wish they would have made it more clear though. I had to rewind it to confirm.

Also i have to say what crappy army guys they must have been for them to get ambushed by a bunch of untrained red necks. haha.

I thought it was an interesting episode, if a bit of a let-down after 2 eps filled with action. Watching the Governor keeps me wondering just how much they will diverge with him. He's a creepy dude tho - I wonder if he keeps the heads in the aquarium linked up to batteries to torture them (seeing as they're still "alive")?

I just assumed it was the other 2 prisoners setting off the alarm tho in next week's glimpse, trying to get rid of Rick & the group.

True it was him - but I didn't realize it till after I'd seen the "In Memoriam" portion of Talking Dead.

I wonder if this is what will seal the deal for Michonne to make Andrea bust outta Woodbury - she saw his face after all before the Woodbury guys arrived...

PS - How bad-ass was it to see Merle again? Can't wait till he & Darryl meet up again!

What does the bolded part mean? Michonne saw the pilots face? They'll just say he died and the disposed of him. In the previews for next week though she finds fresh blood on the military vehicles...

That was the pilot, I recognized him by the band aid on his face. He also had the 2 pet heads in there.

I think that "doctor" will turn out to be extra creepy. Hannibal Mengela type mix.

I don't think the heads in the tanks were "powrering" anything. I think they needed power as they were making fishtank type noises, prolly just pumps and such.

Ya, the helicopter pilot said the chopper was in bad shape but they had to get out of there so it was worth the risk. Agree with it being a little weak they managed to get totally ambushed like that. What a score for the govenor though, lots of automatic rifles and some sweet diesel trucks.

Choppers are sketchy at best.

I enjoyed the show, I would like to learn more about the "tea man"....seems interesting.

Maybe the watcher at the prison, is the black fella and his kid (can't recall his name).

I see two possibilities:

Andrea and Michonne's storyline started a little bit before Rick's group finds the prison. So the next episode will have Andrea giving away the location of the farm, which I assume is near the prison. Governor scouts out the prison, and sends a band to mess around with them chase them out. Can't straight up kill them though. Merle wouldn't do such a thing to Darryl.

That or it's just a matter of the other two prisoners causing trouble. But that seems less likely as it would be easy for Rick to figure that out. Also wouldn't really explain who's watching Carol.

I think the unknown woman in the bed was that dark-haired good looking chick with the clipboard who was walking around town explaining stuff to Andrea and Michonne.

haha, I've got too much Calgarypuck on my brain I think. When that scene happened I figured someone in this thread would take issue of it. Yeah, that was pretty bad overall. I guess they could have been tired and beat out from being on the run with no home base for weeks/months but it could have been fleshed out more.

Still, The Governor killing that first guy was a pretty fun moment.
