Sometimes (or all the time, whatever you prefer) I'm an idiot. Looks like this is working. Thanks man. Thanks everyone.

Ok, more problems now. The update seems to have worked, but now when I'm trying to sync my phone, it says the phone cannot be used because it requires iTunes 10.1 or later. Problem is, when I try to download iTunes 10.1 or whatever the latest is, I can't because my operating system is too old. So am I being forced to buy the new operating system here or what?

Lol what version of OSX are you running? It'll run on 10.5 or later.

10.4.11. I'm cheap - I don't want to buy a new iPhone OR a new operating system!

Lol OSX OS upgrades are cheap! Be thankful you don't have to shell out for Windows.

Sorry, didn't realize I'd lolled at the beginning of both posts.

$29 for the snow leopard upgrade, though that requires an Intel processor'ed mac.

Hm, actually since you're running 10.4, you'll have to get the box set for $129:

http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC...co=MTM3NDgwNzc

If you don't have an Intel CPU it's going to be more difficult, as 10.5 is pretty expensive now.

If you have a friend with Macs and they got the 5 user family license and didn't use them all that'd be the cheapest option.

You didn't hear it from me, but the $35 Snow Leopard upgrade disk does actually work with Tiger (10.4)... even though they say it doesn't.

Have you played with the new Samsung Focus yet? A buddy from class has one, and it's actually very nice. Super responsive (unlike Android) and very quick.

I'm messing around right now building a simple text editor for WP7, just for the sake of getting something built.

During the call we switch to facetime. This ends the long distance call, or not? Do the minutes stop? If you end facetime, the call stays seamless right, so, does the phone company charge you for the whole LD call or stop the clock during the facetime?
I'm pretty sure that the call is charged the entire length of the call, the only part that facetime covers is the video, I could be wrong though

Just facetime them directly. Go to their entry in the address book and click the facetime button. Why make a call?

Sorry, one more quick question. Do you, or anyone, know if you can get the Snow Leopard upgrade in stores like futureshop, or does it only get sold at places like the Apple store and the online store?

Best Buy has a mac section so they should have it, it's on their website anyway (well their site is down but I can see it in a google cache).

Question for you all...

My 3G connection was not really working today, and was draining my battery going between Edge and 3G constantly. I couldn't access any data services. Last time I reset network settings, and it fixed it. This time, I have no service anymore! Any suggestions on how to fix this?

EDIT: Nevermind, it just took over half an hour to find the network again!

Is there a quick and easy way for me to revert back to the update that was prior to this 4.2?

How do you even get to the Edge network (if 3G doesn't work). My friend and I were in the Saddledome and my 3G failed and his went to Edge and mine didn't. Is it just with different providers? He is on Fido/Rogers and I am on Telus.

Telus does not have a "2G/Edge" network.

It's a 3G, but I jumped the gun a bit. I was able to purchase the Snow Leopard update tonight, and apparently my Macbook can handle it, so I might be OK. The problem was that I upgraded my iPhone to 4.2, but then because I didn't have iTunes 10.whatever, my phone would no longer work with iTunes. And then because I still had the old operating system, I couldn't download iTunes 10. My Macbook is close to four years old, so I thought I was screwed, but I discovered I indeed have an Intel laptop, meaning the Snow Leopard will work, I can download iTunes 10, and my phone will work again.

Confused? I probably didn't need to include all that info. Thanks for reading.
