In fairness I think there are a large number of Canadians that have the same views.

Is anyone surprised? Trump can be a horrible businessman, corrupt politician, snake oil salesman, sexual predator, convicted felon, wholesale mysonginist, blatant racist, aspiring authoritarian, elite class swamp dweller, big industry patsy, and misinformation soothsayer, and people will still vote for him because they love angry soundbytes.
If anyone in his cult-like base ever figures this out, he can just release a 10-second TikTok and re-post it to Truth Social and Xitter about how the Dems, liberals, immigrants and transpeople have ruined the country. Use the hashtag "woke" to get them foaming at the mouth.

Living in the states and getting to the find out part of farting around sure is gonna be fun. It’s a shame so many people are so loudly confident in their economic takes while knowing less than a child. This is “Mexico’s gonna pay for it” all over again. Foolish rubes

Pretty much. Lots of complaining about a tariff that is only going to hurt the American consumer. The demand for products from Canada aren’t going to dry up, they’re only going to get more expensive. The only thing more nutty is suggesting an issue of border security and bad people/drugs crossing the US border INTO the United States is a Canadian problem.

Which is a good sign.

It’s a good sign that Canada needs to occupy itself appeasing the whims of morons? If it weren’t for the economic damage, I’d prefer telling Trump to shove it and let them pay their 25% tariffs until Trump figures out why tariffs are terrible for him.

Taking a tit for tat approach is only going to further hurt both sides. Can the US handle only domestic trade? Regardless this is a wake up call for Canada that the US will continue to be an unreliable partner.
We also need to reconsider sharing intelligence information with them as Gabbard and probably most of Trump's cabinet are likely going to be sharing that information with whoever pays them.

Seems pretty clear for the Trump fartcatchers that the Trump tariffs are justified when Trudeau is PM but if PP becomes PM they will become rash and unjustified.

The selflessness of Patriot Trump just brings a tear to one's eye. Is there anything purer in the world than the love this man has for his fellow downtrodden American?

A bit unclear who you're talking about (Milhouse or Trump), but a) if Milhouse had his country's best interest at heart, he'd get his security clearance instead of making himself look like he's got skeletons in his closet he doesn't want people to find out about, and b) fi it's Trump, he only likes angry sound bytes and, like a complete imbecile, will damage the ever-loving #### out his citizen base and his country's economy because 'own the libs' - as if this is somehow actually important at the adult's table.

don’t let the door hit you on the way out when Trump declines to exclude oil and gas from the tariffs. What’s your problem, I assume you hate Canada? Why cheer for Trump in this instance, do you hate your neighbours that much?

Which accomplishes nothing.
We're 24h into this and the Liberals have handled it well. About as good as anyone could.
Which is a very, very good sign for Canada.
The dream here, if we want to call it that, is to further strengthen the interlinking between the US & Canadian economies so that it benefits both countries while at the same time taking the supply chain control away from China.
