Okay, fair enough but at the same time he had to come in cold. He didnt get a few months to get to know his players or an entire pre-season to establish his system or a few games to set his roster either.

And further, your example of the Pittsburgh Penguins? Not even remotely the same thing, Mike Johnston was fired after 28 games and replaced by Mike Sullivan and then there was an almost immediate and meteoric improvement.

How about Trotz as an example? A clearly acknowledged good coach, it took him at least 20 games to get the Caps playing his way.
GG was hampered by not having his star player in camp at all, and having Monahan out for a good chunk as well. Elliott didn't play well off the bat, which wasn't a bonus for sure (and there was every reason at the beginning of the season to play Elliott over Johnson, who'd had a pretty mediocre preseason).

Stopped watching after Edmonton went up 2-0, turned it back on to see Philly up 3-2. immediately after I turn on the game oilers score, I watch until edm goes up 5-3 then say screw this and find out edm loses 6-5. I think I am their lucky charm I shall not watch anymore of their games

This was the same with me. And same thing in the Buffalo game too. Caught only the Edmonton goals, none of the Sabres or Flyers'. Every time I'd flip it back on the opposing team got a couple. I think that's a hint for me (/us) to just not tune into Oiler games any more.
Have to say it's entertaining with results like these though. E=NG

McDavid should shut up about what's said on ice.

Meh i doubt it was intentional it happened way to fast. It was just trash talk on the ice and looked like Manning did get into Mcdavids head.

McDavid and Draisaitl keep scoring. Oilers keep losing. Excellent.
Those second contracts are going to be brutal for Edmonton's salary cap.
