No way to get a football/soccer stadium built in Canada without public funds. Maybe Saputa is the only one? New/renovated CFL parks all had significant public money.
Which doesn't mean you have to build one.

The place is obviously way too much of an echo chamber if no one involved realizes how many people are seeing right through this bull####.

We've had the veiled hints, but I wonder how long until the blatant relocation threats start.

It's only a matter of time before they're spotted in Seattle with Lanny.

Laugh. I wonder who that unnamed "player in City Hall" source was.

I'd guess Nenshi himself.

Yah think? That quote is a dead giveaway. There's really only one person who's witty enough to come up with that.

Ken King's bluster over this project is simply tone deaf. What's next, threatening to move the team, pissing off the majority of fans even more?

I know some will consider be a "bad fan" for saying this, but the day this club threatens to move over not getting a new arena paid for by taxpayers is the day I vow to never give them another dime of my money.

Do they get a lot of dimes now?
Answer not required - but that is exactly it - does that kind of posturing alienate fans that put up significant money to watch them play?

That's a fair point, my threat would not resonate with Flames since I only go to a few games a year. But surely I'm not the only one who is ready to threaten this, some who give them more money than I?

The Texas Rangers' new stadium will apparently cost taxpayers an extra $300 million.

These things are so unsavory

Do you think the city of Dallas will ever recover from this injustice?

I'm sure the city will survive, but they'd probably be better off if they didn't waste 300 million on the same pack of falsehoods that every ownership spews to every city when they want them to pay for a new stadium.

That's insane, the place was built in the 90's and they're replacing it already??
