Since it seems more and more like we will be picking around 5-7 I would love to see the Flames get Monahan. A big skilled center that seems to fly under the radar because he plays on the worst team in the OHL. Apparently plays alot like Toews.

Landeskog and Oreilly both have the potential to be #1 C's. Duchene took that step this year. I'd be quite comfortable moving forward with those three, assuming there was a coach in place who is not a buffoon.

I like Monahan's little fake that he's going to shoot, then passes it off, never really seen someone do it that way.

The higher the Flames finish, in spots 24-30, the higher the chance they will actually not get moved down a spot after the draft lottery.
So, if they're drafting 6th pre-lottery, the top 5 have better odds of winning the lottery, and number 1 overall pick will probably come from that 5. Meaning someone will move up and down before 6th.
However the lower they finish the better their own chances of winning it are.

If somehow snuck in to 4th those aren't bad odds of winning it. Unlikely we finish there though, unless Nashville and Tampa suddenly start applying a concept that has become alien to them.
