Too much emphasis on a few YouTube clips. There's a reason why every scouting service has him top 10 in a strong draft year. He doesn't remind of Nemisz at all.
You should have left it at "I haven't seen him much" instead of trashing him in 5 posts in a row. Your own credibility is taking a hit and we are left to wonder if it's not you who are living in your parents basement

Yeah, its amazing how many teams are closing in on the bottom, but I don't think pro players are tanking games, the players those organizations draft could take veteran's places. I just think there are a plentiful number of teams with players that are that bad, and care that little.

I think everyone but Jones/MacKinnon/Drouin should go back to Junior or their respective leagues.

All of his moves are long sweeping moves, not the short quick ones you need in the NHL where time and space get compressed because of the tempo of the game. What he does works at the junior level, but does he have the ability to get better in the areas where his game working at the NHL level? Can he do things at speed? Based on his lack of speed and need for space to make his moves I'm not certain of that.

I guess we will just agree to disagree, I believe Monahan will be an extremely effective NHL player. He has the potential to be a solid 2-way number 1 center. From what I have seen of him (which granted, isn't a lot) he has all the tools to completely take over a game. I don't see the faults in his skating that you do, he is not flashy, but he just does all the little things right. Great in the face off circle, offensive skill galore, solid two way play, and leadership skills. The guy has future captain written all over him, I actually think a fair comparison is Toews (not saying he will reach that level).
With that being said, I'm still hoping we can find a magical way to snag Mackinnon or Barkov. I'm pretty indifferent when it comes to Monahan/Lindholm. I am confident in the Flames scouts to find a good player regardless.

Thank you the fair response and not just attacking a poster who doesn't agree with your position. It's nice to actually discuss the player rather than have a DB response to face because you maybe didn't see eye-to-eye with the accepted view of player based on nothing more than an aggregated view of the player from a limited number of scouts. The fact that he remains top 10 with ISS does say something and should make him a promising player. Still not a player I personally would like to see selected by the Flames, but it wouldn't be the first time I was wrong on something (unlike the many people who attacked my point of view?). Hopefully we some how manage to stumble into MacKinnon, Barkov or Lindholm and we won't have to worry about how Monahan develops.

So carolina is in cap trouble right now and florida is a budget team so if we end up getting the 6th or 7th pick would you trade them Glencross plus our first to move up to grab Mackinnon.
I think that Carolina might if Jones is already gone when they pick. They have high end talent up front already, need cheap 2nd line fowards, and need defensemen. So would they drop down for a guy like Nurse.
And is the difference between Lindholm/ Monahan and Mackinnon worth Glencross.

Glencross + our 1st is a high price to pay just to move up a few spots into the top 3. But I think it worth it if we can acquire Jones, Mackinnon or Drouin. Would a teams such as Carolina, Florida or Colorado accept such a trade? Likely not.
The most likely team to trade down would be Colorado. If they were miss out on Jones but then again the would pick up Drouin to play LW for one of their 3 #1C...
Fingers crossed that Valeri Nichushkin will be picked in top 3-5 ranging and pushing other prospects down.

No team with 3 #1C's can be as bad as Colorado.
Duchene maybe, but no way are Stastny or O'Reilly #1's IMO.
Colorado will be looking to move Stastny I'd say, they'll keep their pick.

I think last night was this team's Stanley Cup, and they'll go 0-4 to close out the year.
My only concern about the Flames getting any more points is that they seem to go to OT with Minnesota a lot. I think the Preds will play with some fire for their final home game, since they haven't won a game at home (or at all) since April 2. The Blues are going to be jockeying for position right until the end, and have a real chance at home-ice in the first round (which would suck for the Flames draft hopes). Closing out the season in Chicago on the back half of back-to-back games should be as close to a guaranteed loss as you can get.
If the Flames do close out the year 0-4, they'll be passed by Nashville, and probably Tampa (who play both Carolina and Florida at home this week). They are unlikely to be passed by Carolina or Colorado, and can't be passed by Florida.
27th place would give the Flames a 10.7% chance of picking first; a 58% chance of picking fourth; and a 31.3% chance of picking fifth.

I was curious as to how these players ranked over time so I looked at ISS Rankings over the last six months to get a gauge for risers and fallers.
If the player was not ranked in the Top 30, I used 31 to calculate the differentials. I apologize for any mistakes but I think this helps to provide a broader look at whose development may have increased or stalled. It also raises some interesting questions.

Isn't ISS russian owned and skewed? I seem to recall reading discussion about this somewhere, but I can't recall where. Maybe I made it up in my brain.
Regardless, in a vacuum those might be the ratings, but I still don't see Nichushkin going top 5.

Agreed. If they miss out on Jones then I could see them drafting Drouin and trading Stastny for a Dman.

Philly beats Carolina tonight. I'd say bottom three are pretty set.
Now comes the race for 4th. Tampa plays Carolina and Florida in their final few games, and Flames have a "mammoth" game against Nashville that will probably decide things
