My point is that the guy that Atkins is banking on had a WAR of 1.3 while Teo (who they could have added without giving up an asset and would have fit a need of the outfield) almost has that WAR through a quarter of the season. My argument is that the team is poorly constructed because they are treating guys like Springer and Guerrero as their core when they simply aren’t capable of carrying that weight and would likely perform a lot better if they had more support in the lineup. Guerrero and Springer’s struggles aren’t coming out of the blue. It’s been a trend that Atkins wasn’t able to address in the off season.

Atkins and Shapiro heavily promoted the fact that our top four needed to get us to the playoffs. They were wrong and they should have known that they were wrong.

I said trade Vlad and sign Teo , not trade Vlad for Teo …..

Well you don’t want them depending on their core, and you don’t want them getting rid of them ?

What would you have suggested they do this offseason ? I’ve already showed the players you named outside of Teo are useless this season

Teo wasn’t coming back for the same deal the Dodgers gave him so you would have to overpay to play him in left over Schneider

Schneider has a 0.7 WAR compared to Teos 1.3 .We would have half a win extra for 25 million plus a few million more in luxury tax payments

Sooooo, again - What did you want them to do ? Everyone they brought in and the young guys are all playing good to great

It’s the core 4 - Vlad , Bo, Springer and Kirk who are dooming this team . Kirk and Springer were effectively untradeable , so the only move in hindsight was to trade Vlad and Or Bo . And if you do that you are getting prospects / lesser players and starting a rebuild

You can’t just acquire a new “core” - it sucks but it is what it is . This core became pathetic

Teoscar's 9 HR's would look pretty fricken sweet right now. Good for him. But he's kind of the product of his environment. Batting behind Freeman, Ohtani, Betts, etc. I would put money down that he wouldn't have those numbers on this team.

But he has to play somewhere . His D is atrocious so he’s platooning with Turner and Schneider , who haven’t been the problem

The upgrade would be minimal on what is hurting this team - horrible bullpen , horrible catcher , horrible SS, average 1B and horrible RF (I guess in theory Springer could have been benched for Teo but that wasn’t happening )

I hate this team. Still can't believe the 3rd inning when Springer came up with runners on 1st and 2nd nobody out. Slaps an outside pitch for the tailor made double play. These dudes must be betting against themselves. There's no way players can be this bad.

New core should be Schneider, Clement, and Jansen.

I literally cannot believe they still have him hitting lead off. His OPS is in the .500's

Not sure what's going to happen but this team absolutely has to do something soon. It's getting way out of control.
