Isn't Perzynski pretty much considered to be the one of the most disliked players by his own team mates in all of baseball?

So, Accardo and Lewis non tendered.
Russell Martin was non tendered by the Dodgers. He has no power left it would appear, but he can still hit, can do some of the catching and play 3B adequately, may be a cheap-ish option for the Jays?
MLB Trade Rumors says that the Jays are interested in Mark Reynolds. I question why. Sure he is still young, has great power and plays a good 3B. However, he has led the majors in strike-outs three years running, twice breaking the record for strike-outs in a season, once someone else's, then broke his own record. He struck out last season at a .423 pace!!! 42% of the time? Wow. Oh and he batted .198.
If he were guaranteed to return to 2009 form, maybe he is worth it.
Here are his lines form the last 3 seasons:
2008: .239/.320/.458, 28 2B, 28HR, 97RBI, 11SB, 204K
2009: .260/.349/.543 30 2B, 44HR, 102RBI, 24SB, 223K
2010: .198/.320/.433 17 2B, 32HR, 85RBI, 7SB, 211K
So yeah, guarantee me 2009 production and I can barely look past the 38.5% strike out rate, give me '08 or '10 production and I think I would puke watching the guy.

If he was cheap, why not. The D-Back's stadium isn't really that great a hitters park if I recall correctly, so I could hypothetically see those HR numbers rise if he were to come to Toronto.
Troy Glaus used to strike out a ton as well, but he would hit the HR's and nobody really complained.

Doesn't that stadium give up as many home runs as any other park in the National league. Hot dry air, at a higher than normal altitude.

True but Glaus' career high in K's is 163 and that was his second full season. That was the year he hit 47HR. That was still only a 29% strike out rate. His highest strike total as a Jay was 134, plus he batted .252 and .262 with better on base numbers.
Reynolds would not really be that cheap, he has 2 years plus a team option for a 3rd with a $500k buyout. The salaries are $5M, $7.5M and the option is for $11M.
Like I said, if he has a line similar to '09, maybe, but I don't see this as worth the risk, especially considering that Arizona is asking for bullpen help, which is a position where we lack depth at right now.

It all depends on the cost to acquire. If it's a couple bullpen arms, then by all means go for it even if the jays have only a couple right now.
The difference between the best and worst bullpen in the league is about 1 win per year, which is basically irrelevant. Most of the best relievers WAR is less that 1. If Reynolds WAR is greater than one (not sure if it is), then go for it.
Worse case scenario is you convert a couple of your fringe starters like Litsch and Zep into relievers and put them in as the 7th and 8th inning guys if necessary.

Apparently some of the Jays are coming to Calgary in January. Kind of strange for them to come here.

I may have missed it in the thread but in regards to Reynolds people do realize that he has a no trade deal that includes TO.
Not saying that kills a deal but considering the questions around him it may be the final piece that makes him less desirable.

Reynolds stats average for the past 3 years
.232 AVG .330 OBP .478 SLG 25 2B 35 HR 95 RBI
Edwin Encarnacion Stats last year based on 162 game sched
.244 AVG .305 OBP .485 SLG 27 2B 35 HR 86 RBI
Well, other than RBI's and OBP, it appears the E5 is similar to Reynolds.
Why not sign him for 2-3 million and convert him to 1B leaving Lind at DH.
Probably would be better than sacrificing whatever assets it would take to get Reynolds

I think Reynolds signs in Baltimore. The O's have missed out on a couple other big hitters so far and I'm not sure they want to come away empty again.

defense is a huge difference....from gold glove to cement glove. reynolds can actually play 3b, also he has some speed. and if you compare their best seasons so far side by side, the difference is enormous so potential plays into it as well
