I like getting spam calls now, I have learned a suite of Hindi swear words and it is quite effective after you drag them along in a frail voice for a minute or 2. They get quite mad. It has notably decreased my spam call volume, too. Not sure if coincidence or because I am perversely enjoying it.

I use Google's answering service religiously. Spam never gets through. One of the best features of having a Google phone.

Yeah, I had someone like this earlier in the year. Heavy accent as well. But was legit. Didn't feel as off like yesterday's call where the guy got the basics wrong right away like whether I was a customer or not and whether I was at a renewal with Telus.

Only issue was that at the time, Telus was still not offering fibre in my area and the plan they could offer for ADSL wasn't great. Like... come on. The community was getting cards about Telus fibre 2-3 years ago on a test basis and 2-3 years later, the rest of the community isn't serviced yet. Or if you're going to ask me to be on a plan that's 30-50% of what the gigabit fibre is supposed to be but only are able to knock off 5-8% of the monthly fee and I have a better offer on the table... that's not enticing.

I guess it GMG that fibre still doesn't seem to be available in my area 2-3 years after they handed out cards saying they were probably going to start in my community. I've renewed until 2026, so I probably won't try to look into it again and break my contract early until late 2025.

Can we start putting rocket launchers on our cars yet?

Three cars pull over for a firetruck to pass. No one else around for at least a block. I'm sitting 2nd. After the firetruck passes, the first car starts to pull ahead nearly immediately back to the driving lane and as I begin to follow the complete dickhead in the back rips around both of us nearly sideswiping. God damn trash everywhere on the road.

Here in GTA more and more people don't even bother pulling over for a fire truck with lights and/or siren.

You see those lights and hear those sirens you pull the F' over.

They have infinitely more important places to be than I do.

I remember having a Doctor's appointment and if you're late they can bill you for the time and I just told him..."Sorry, but there was an Emergency Vehicle and it took a while for traffic to clear."

All he said was: "Oh. Thats understandable, I'll tell reception to waive the fee."

And even if he didn't, I'd pay the fee. Someone's life could have been at stake.

Is there like a Rogers office or something I can go to in town and personally throw things at the marketing manager? These ####ing door to door ‘Rogers’ salesmen (sure as #### third party) come by so god damned often. I’m usually quite polite but man, my patience is up. Repeated door bells, long ass knocking, right at my kids bed time, every few weeks.

Heading north on QE2 and loaded semi moves into “fast” lane ahead of me to overtake slower loaded semi. The fast one doing maybe 100.5kph. The slow one doing about 100.something less. Took literally about 3-4 km to pass and move over. Nobody in front of “faster” semi. Like, dude, wtf. And then windows so tinted I didn’t even have the satisfaction of knowing if they saw my head shake and slow clap. Sigh…

If you stay close to the fire truck right behind it he just clears the way. Ultimate drafting move.

There’s my gear grinder on this subject, the idiots drafting the emergency vehicle and taking advantage of the parted wave making it difficult or dangerous to reform back into traffic. Just wait your turn and let the people in front of you get back in where they were in front of you in the first place.

There's so many people who never look behind them when they drive. It's like tunnel vision. It's perhaps worse after rear view cameras and people drive like they expect all cars to yield to them and other cars have eyes in the back of the back.

One thing I noticed someone do was a high beam flash before pulling over. I assumed it was the truck directly behind me that did it. It certainly helped me check behind me a little earlier.

I'm usually pretty good at noticing but sometimes you can't see through a vehicle.

Why is the city sending street sweepers out un-announced ?

I could have moved my vehicles for sure but instead I now sit in the only unswept spot on my street.
