You would think the Jays haven't won a single game this series, yet here they are in position to maybe get a sweep against a team that is 27 and 21. But I suppose it's cathartic to point the finger squarely at Montoyo for every single possible negative outcome in a game as random as baseball.

You have to play the games. And they have played well. Awesome.
That doesn't make Montoyo's decisions any more justifiable.

So despite successful on field results from his decisions, they're still the wrong decisions! Wow talk about a cant-win situation for Montoyo.

Seems like you would actually take more pleasure in the results if Biggio and Tapia struck out every at bat!

baseball is a game of percentages
if your skipper is making decisions contrary to the numbers, and hoping to get lucky, you're probably in trouble, over the course of the season

you're chasing the wrong guy here, you might want to check my posting history
I can root for the team to be successful, and still comment that I thought a particular decision was baffling

I thought the way Trout was tracking that it was gonna get caught and was gonna be ready to smash things if we got another out at the wall

Montoyo win percentage 2021: .562
Montoyo win percentage 2022: .565
Let me know when the percentages start to get worse.

Maybe with a different manager, those numbers would be higher?

Probably not!
Look at Joe Maddon trotting out an abysmal bullpen. Team hasn't made the postseason since he arrived in Anaheim. Why didn't he use his high leverage guys later! He put Loup out two games back to back and the Jays were all over him. Do they need a better manager?

maybe not, we can't know
but I don't know anyone in baseball who thinks the Jays overachieved last year, or so far this year
anyway, I'm out - I am not arguing with you any more

I don’t think they have anyone to really pinch run for Kirk (except Jansen who isn’t much of an improvement) which is too bad.

Getting to watch Ohtani play baseball is a pleasure…even if he is a nightmare to play against.
