Swedish chick was going to win the silver with one jump left and she sat back and took off like a ski jumper! too bad it's downhill skiing and not ski jumping.
It was insane and the commentating was spectacular!!!

we had a few good ones blow their knees before Christmas as well. Bummer. The Calgarian would have done well here (John Kucera).

The French chick took about four strides then just fell over. Like five seconds into her run.
The next skiier, a Swede (?) got some major air and came down hard.

Downhill skiing lol. This course is destroying the women. Last one came off a jump and went over 60 meters before screwing the landing and hitting a gate. There have been about a half dozen wicked wipe outs, never seen a skiing event so exciting lol.

There's one turn near the bottom that all seem to be going outside of the blue lines (except Vonn, the first American, and Janyk).
Either too fast or not the right line...the physcological factor of being outside the "recommended" blue line at best slows them down, at worst, screws them up so bad that they push too hard later on and bail...at least 3 have bailed after this point so far.
Plus, the fact that so many have crashed has to get some of the later skiiers thinking about it...and maybe the course conditions have slightly changed too over the past hour.
