Ducks fans freaking out because Brandon Montour isn't listed on their NHL roster anymore:

Doesn't sound like much, but that's how Ducks fans found out early that they had signed Brian Gibbons and Carter Rowney.

Montour is back on the roster. I guess they came to their sense and didn't want Brouwer afterall.

A lot of heat out there about Tampa Bay landing Erik Karlsson soon. Started to make the twittersphere rounds this morning with an ominous Stamkos tweet that has him embracing Karlsson at the all star game.

Travis Yost is also talking about a possible three way deal to help make salaries work.

I don't know how to embed tweets.

I don't like Tampa Bay. In fact, I hate them. I really like Karlsson too. I hope this doesn't happen.

I wouldn't mind the Flames being in the three way trade, if we can land another solid top 6.

I don't understand how Tampa could afford another player like Karlsson? He's going to be making over $10 million (IMO), and Kucherov, Gourde and Point are on deck for significant raises next year.

I think our top 6 is more then fine now and we are a deep forward group. This team should be focusing on acquiring a backup goalie incase Smith Falters. Don't give me the Rittich is ready bs either. He had his chance last season when Smith went down and completely botched it. I would not want to bank our whole season on Mike Smith staying healthy. This is the one aspect of this team which scares me the most heading into the season.

Good. We can sign Stone next summer without losing any assets.

Maybe we can get Mark Stone for free July 1st, 2019.

We should keep Michael Stone for this reason alone (I do like him though, good bottom pairing d-man who can move up the lineup, just making a little too much.)

Or should we trade for him now?

2019 1st, Bennett, Andersson

for

Mark Stone

Enough? Too much?

Nope. I wouldn't give that up now. I like our roster. Better to keep those assets and see how it shakes out. Imagine signing him next year though, wow.

Gaudreau - Monahan - Neal
Tkachuk - Lindholm - Stone
Bennett - Backlund - Czarnik
Dube - Jankowski - Ryan

Or something like that. My goodness.

Not sure where the Flames will have the cap space for Mark Stone next year.

If anything, the Flames should be bending the Sens over for MIchael Stone to appease Mark and get him to sign an extension.

So, Michael Stone for Colin White sounds just about right.

I'm betting the Flames and Sens talked a lot at the draft about a Hamilton-Mark Stone deal. Tre probably wanted Thomas Chabot as well to keep the top 4 strong.

Dont see how we can afford stone as a free agent while giving tkachuk and hopefully Bennett raises. Stone I'd going to get a hefty contract!

Stone and chabot for Hamilton would have been an absolute robbery. And I am very high on Hamilton.

There is literally nothing I would want from the Habs for Janko. Before Neal I would have said Gallagher but at this point I would rather keep Janko.

If you replace Andersson with Frolik and there's a buyout of Brouwer, the money could probably work this year and next for Tkachuk's signing.

If Mark Stone ends up signing a 1 year deal, no way the Sens let him get to free agency without getting something in return. The assets given up will depend on whether a team feels comfortable they'll be able to sign him long term.

I don't see why the Sens would want a 30 year old if they are blowing things up. The only reason is if they need to get to the floor. If that's the case, I'd see them wanting a kid like Andersson which you might package with Brouwer to get them to the floor. Or they might demand something like Andersson, Czarnik to got with Brouwer, seeing as how they will need a RW.
