People make a lot of excuses for Jankowski, but he hasn't developed at a rate you would hope a first rounder would. He has been passed by players in his draft class and by other Flames prospects. But we aren't supposed to talk about that either.

At least its better than hearing Weisbrod aka The ARCHITECT, get praised for making Stanley Cup winning draft picks when he was still in his mother's womb

I think we need a poll.
Where would Jankowski get picked in the 2015 draft?
Last year in the top prospect threads he was passed by all of our 1st round picks since he was picked including Klimchuck.
I would have to think that Ferland will pass him this year along with Hunter Smith and #35 best prospect Jooris.
Rienhart was ahead of him as a prospect ... Is Jankowski a better prospect at this point in time than a 3rd round pick? #64 in 2010?
Would you pick him before Kulak #105 or Culkin #124 in 2012? or last years #3 pick Hickey? Hickey is younger and played at least an equal role for his NCAA team as a Freshman.
Last year would have the Flames picked Jankowski at #64 with Hickey on the board? Would they do it this year if they were both available?

Jankowski is definitely ahead of Reinhart IMO. Reinhart is screaming career ahler at this point.

I agree with that... but in his development cycle a year ago , only 53 cp voters thought that Jankowski was a better prospect than Rienhart who got the 8th spot with 101 votes.
Jankowski likely would pass Rienhart but that is a function of Rienhart falling behind.
With what we know about Rienhart after last season it is likely that he would not have been drafted. We couldn't trade him for a 7th round pick.
Has Jankowski shown enough development to maintain his #12 best prospect status?
The Flames pick at#45, #53 and #54 in the 2nd round of the 2015 draft. Will these 18 year olds immediately pass Jankowski on the Flames prospect list? The #15 pick will be ahead of him.

Is he the best player on his NCAA team? Most Ice, time highest scorer, go to guy in all situations? Captain of his team? On the Canadian U20 team as a checker/energy guy? He was at the U20 camp and no mention of possibly making the tournament team.
How many people still believe that Jankowski is a top prospect because of this quote:
In 10 years, Feaster predicted, “Jankowski will be viewed as the best player in the 2012 draft,”
99.9%?
And out of the people that still hang on to Shremp-like can't fail cultism most will agree that as 21 year old he would be a buried on the Flames AHL team.

Who cares what Feaster said about Jankowski, it has nothing to do with the player. We got the player, and we can wait a year or two and see. I'm predicting he will be a good 3rd line center. Now Sieloff on the other hand looks like a bust, which he did from day one.

So you're the 0.01%?
It hasn't been 10 years so Feaster could be the one laughing 7 years from today.
However, looking over what else was said but you chose to ignore that:
Quote:
“He’s a long way away, he’s raw, he’s young, he’s still got to cross the crocodile-infested waters and develop properly — like, it’s a long way from draft day to play in the NHL — but the physical attributes this guy has. The athleticism. The skating. The hands. The fact that he’ll likely be playing at six-four, 215. I’ve said it to our scouts all week long — he’s Joe Nieuwendyk.”
|
If you want to use the best player in 10 years quote how about using other thing they said, he's long ways away? No? didn't think so, you've got your agenda why get away from it. Oh well.

scared off by anonymous fans on a team's message board?
better hope Janko isn't as tissue soft as that; If he ever gets to the NHL, his first couple of shifts will have more trash talking than this thread...

The same could be said about whoever the Flames draft in the 3rd round of the 2015 draft.

Tell me again and again and again that the Flames don't get the 51st pick in the 2017 draft if they decide that Jankowski is not worth signing.
You seem to enjoy being consistently and vehemently wrong and being rude about it.

I think/could very well be wrong about that. Unlike the unwashed masses here I try to keep an open mind about things, not dig my heels in... but man, telling someone they're consistently and vehemently wrong about something?
That's a dangerous card for you to play, ricardo.

wow somehow you think that 3 years down the road he has made sufficient progress to think that he is tracking to be .... wait for it ..... Joe Nieuwendyk!!!!
If the kid is Joe freakin Nieuwendyk and is a UFA August 2016 why in the world do you think he would sign with the Flames?
If he is on his way to being Joe then he obviously should be ahead of Bennett because not likely that Bennett (or Gaudreau) is going to have a 1200+ game ppg career like Joe and Jankowski.
I can see how you have him ranked higher than Ferland who was a top player for the Flames in a NHL playoff series... the first series in 10 years that they won. Ferland is not Nieuwendyk.

You should tell everyone again how Stempniak will only garner a 7th round pick at the deadline.

It's not even worth discussing this.
But, you have your agenda. Like I said you have no intent of remembering the 2nd point of being years away.
