I'm going to Calgary over May long weekend which of course, since it's May long, pretty much guarantees that it'll snow like it is now. Or worse. F--- I hate Calgary weather.

Apparently Hwy 2 between Red Deer and Calgary is terrible.

Glenmore Trail wasn't all that bad at 6am, a lot of water, but hardly any slush. Big wind though. You're going to want to leave the house early today all you rush hour folk.

Was just on deerfoot between Mcknight and Peigan, 6:30 - 7:00, saw one serious puddle but everything else was fine. Traffic was actually very light, lots of people taking sick days.

Everyone else at work is saying terrible things about the roads, especially outside the city.

I would love to be taking a sick day today.

The drive in for me was uneventful, and took about the same amount of time as it always does. Thankfully I don't have to take Deerfoot, as I'm sure it will be terrible over the next few hours.

Certainly dont envy those of you in this storm...my biggest decision today is whether to golf this afternoon or do some work around the house.

No power at our country home . . . . therefore no shower this a.m. Spit in my hand and slicked the curly hair down and off I went out the door.

Then, surprise, surprise, in a suit and tie, ignomously shovelling heavy, slushy snow away from the gate so it would open, in blowing snow and heavy wind. Very not fun.

Then probably the most dangerous drive into Calgary in the 12 years I've been out there . . . . . even a four wheel drive Durango isn't going to stick in heavy, slushy snow. Down to 30 km in places.

Nice driving in the city though!!!

This day has not started well.

Well it looks like a January blizzard outside my house. My power died when I was typing this post which crashed my internet. Wow, just died again...and again. 3 times in the last 2 minutes. It is back up now...

...but for how long!

haha, it took me 12 minutes to post this message due to power outage.

Still windy as hell in the deep SE. (as im sure it is everywhere). Tried to walk around the house to see if any siding or roofing has come off... that was a bad idea. Living in a construction zone means flying debris.

Power went out at work this morning. Thank god for uninterruptible power supply on the servers. Greatest invention ever.

I was driving up Shaganappi Trail last night at 3 am and the road was covered with ice and snow. I couldn't see the lanes. THere were 2 cars in the ditches. Driving uphill with summer tires didn't help at all

Windy out there but the roads are fine. People were still doing 80-100 on Crowchild.
