I just finished shovelling and I gotta find the energy to hit the gym. I am so glad there is a game on tonight. What a great excuse to stay in!

Went out to get groceries this morning which went fine and dandy until we got home - got stuck on my street. I hopped out and the g/f hopped in the driver's side so I could push. That didn't work so she hopped out...and shut the door.
Doh.
Keys inside, car running, door locked. House keys locked inside the car too.
Good times.

I was great at popping open doors using a coat hanger back in the old days when that was possible. I remember when I was going to the U of C I did three cars in the McMahon lot one day when there was some kind of epidemic of forgetfulness one fine winter's morning.
Nowadays you're pretty well screwed as the cars are much harder to get into without specialized tools most people (ie - not car thieves) don't have. How did you manage to get in - locksmith?

Little things that test a relationship. You should have that service that you can call to get them to open the door in cases like that...I forget the name of it.

Was it somehow your fault that she locked the keys in the car?

Some guy in a truck with a blade on the front just drove through our street and cleaned up the snow. It was perfect timing because we were just about to clean off the street from my drive way so we didn't have to drive over the 3 foot drift.
What a great neighbor.

No not really, but it wasn't her fault either. The car generally won't lock when it's running. I'll sometimes leave it running on a cold day when running into 7-11 or what not - and use my spare key to lock it from the outside. You can't (or at least you're not supposed to be able to) lock it from the inside while it's running until you have it in drive.

Called my folks who have the third house key. Waited in the detached garage freezing our arses off until they got there...then was able to get my spare car key from inside.

The whole neighbourhood got together and helped dig out the guy across the street who had a 5 foot snowdrift across his whole driveway apparently. I didn't know about it but my wife said there was a bunch of them. Good thing, that drift would have taken a single person all day.

Do any of the car manufacturers other than GM offer anything like OnStar? I don't think it would be worth it to buy a GM just for OnStar.

Ffffkkk my car is buried in snow and I have neither the equipment nor the man power to get it out. I'm going to be stuck in my apartment until further notice.

So my boss told me to come into work today (he asked me Monday when it wasn't a mess outside), I don't work Saturdays, so I said yes. Yesterday I parked outside the house in front of the garden (not on the driveway) because there was a foot of snow on it. Today my dad and brother decided to shovel the driveway, good enough, but then they decide from some stupid reason to move my car and they put it in the driveway.
This brings me to my part in this ordeal. I go outside to go to work and backup out of the driveway, at the moment I am backing up (I am just off the driveway where there is a foot and half of snow) someone is driving up, so I stop, because no one ever stops for me, my neighbors are a-holes, so I get stuck in the snow. I can't reverse only go forward (but my foot is welded to the floor), and I finally get loose, and immediately jump on the brakes. No use, the car doesn't stop an inch and I run right into the garage door. It is all effed now, bent, wood is broken.
Gonna cost $500-$1000 to get a new one/fix it. FML, why people have to touch my stuff is beyond me.

I saw a bus do that today. Why do people insist on just flooring the gas pedal when they get stuck? 9/10, that's just going dig you in deeper, create ice and generally be bad for the car. Not to mention the chance that you do catch some solid ground and now all of a sudden you're flying forward. I'm a gentle rock to gain momentum type of guy, but to each their own, I suppose.

Well, this afternoon firmed my belief that Karma doesn't exist. After helping 5 people get their cars out, I decide to go to work since I'm behind. As I pull into the work parking lot, a drift pulls me into one of those parking curbs and it proceeds to put a hole in my tire sidewall, dent the lip of the rim, and crack my sideskirt. Now I have to somehow buy one new tire as I just put this set on! FML
