At the start when they go back to Sawyer et als POV at the last flash just before Locke turns the wheel they see the back of a big stone statue.
Also a good while back when they showed Locke talking to a dead Horace when he was cutting down the trees for a cabin wasn't Horace's nose bleeding? Island going to start travelling through time (1970's time) and someone turns the wheel?
Age wise the kid IMO can be either one of Desmond, Daniel or Ethan.
And where the hell is Ben at this stage? Wouldn't he be a teenager?

It cannot be Daniel, his mother is Eloise Hawking (also probably the blonde chick Ellie?), not Amy.
It could be Desmond, it would explain his "specialness" because the baby was not meant to be born (Amy was supposed to be dead, if it wasn't for Sawyer's interference).

I think we'll learn that in the next episode, Namaste, which is also the sign that greeted newcomers to Dharma Initiative on the island when Ben arrived as a boy.

That makes sense about Daniel but I don't think it could be Desmond since he's got brothers according to Lostpedia.
I think Ethan's a good guess. The big question is how does the baby survive the purge to be a character in the present?

I don't think it's Ethan. He was shot dead by Charlie in 2004. The baby was born in 1977. That would make him 27 yr old when he died. No way he was that young.

The thing is that with time travel involved, age isn't really a big deal in who the baby is. It could be Christian, or anyone else for that matter, if Amy went back in time to raise him.

Yeah on lost-forum.com, there is a pretty good thread on the whole Egyptian theme and the clues that have been there since the beginning (symbols that appeard in the hatch, richard's eyeliner, etc). Definitely an interesting theory.

Great episode tonight. Sawyer was awesome. But young Ben was pretty predictable as soon as he was on camera.
And the baby is Ethan.

Another great episode, setting up lots of good interpersonal tension in the weeks to come.
And what is the long journey Sun has to take?
Gaah, the only thing worse than living with the continuous twists and questions is knowing that not too long from now there will be no more twists or questions.

That was one of the better episodes in a long ass time, mostly for me because I actually understood it.

I'd assume it must have something to do with getting back to Jin considering she is in ~2007 and he is in 1977 ... they wouldn't keep those two apart for long, I can't imagine (maybe end of this season?)

I found it interesting that Ben brought Syhid his sandwich. I'm curious how his interactions with the Oceanic survivors will lead play out in the future (and in past seasons).
Absolutely LOVED the scene where Sun knocked out Ben, Lapidus questioned why as she said she trusted him, and Sun's reply of "I lied" was so blunt, evil, and Ben-esque!
Great show, can't wait for next week

Allright...so why Sun (along with Ben and Lapidus) didn't flash back to 1977 with the rest of the Losties? And why did Sawyer say Daniel is "gone"?

Yet nobody mentioned the scene between Sun and Christian when the smoke monster came into the house while they were talking.

Good episode tonight. J.F. Sebastian from Blade Runner as Oldham made me laugh.
