Cristall not making it is an absolute joke on top of Parekh and Sennecke

That's a ton of offensive talent to leave at home.

I guess we can make up a mock ‘B’ team now. I think it would be pretty darn good.

Joke.
I’ll add: The last minute invites almost feel like they were done because of the media pressure flabbergasted at the 4 kids left off the invite list originally. So they invite them last minute, give basically negative playing time and then cut them anyway.
Hockey Canada is way too political than it should be. These events are for best on best and that won’t be the case this year.
|
I think political gives too much credit to thought to how they work. Old boys need to die off but they seem to regenerate. They are about playing “the right way”. Canada mostly does well in spite of this crap and definitely not because of it. I don’t even say this because Zayne not picked but it’s the way it always is. Old guys who want a mold of a compliant player above all else.
He’s a bit of a free thinker and we can’t have that.

I'd argue Cristall is the biggest one. This is his last chance, and the dude's on pace for 150 points this year lol.
At least Sennecke and Parekh are younger and can be back next year.

I mean, to be fair, none of us were at the camp, so maybe he and the others just had a bad camp? That could be a possibility, no?

It's a more likely scenario that Dave Cameron is a moron who thinks he is the smartest guy in the room.

it's a 19 year old tournament and the 18 year olds have to be clearly better to take a roster spot
as late invitees, there was no chance they were going to make the team unless there were more injuries - it's essentially expecting the coach to say, "you know what guys, you were right, and I'm an idiot. Fixed now though!"

How about that McKenna though?
He turns 17 in a week, but officially made the team at 16 years old. How many players have made this team at that age?

Gretzky, Lindros, Spezza, Bouwmeester, Crosby, McDavid, Lindros, Bedard, and some guy named Bill Campbell.

Saw that Parekh got cut and figured the internet would be on fire.
But minus rose colored glasses. He wasn’t originally even invited to try out. He was behind the 8 ball from the get go and probably had zero chance of making it.
I’m sure he’ll get invited next year.

I've never been a Dave Cameron fan so his handling of the roster certainly reaffirms why I've never been a fan of his.

Sennecke was, without a doubt, the biggest and most shocking omission. Cristall is an offensive wizard, but he's still small and slow- in a tournament like this, he can hurt you at times.
