If only we could convince Montreal to do this with Huberdeau.

I doubt it needs to be a pending UFA either.
Cuyle will get a raise. Not sure anyone else gets a raise but I see them handing out bridge deals if they get a star player in a big move.
Kakko will get moved.
Shesterkin will get his $11+ mil but the rest of the team isn't over paid
Reilly Smith will be off the books too.
They have $59 mil committed and likely $70 mil committed after Shesterkin signs. Cap is going to be over $90 mil so $20 mil to fill the roster.
Guys like Lindgren and Miller aren't doing anything that gets them big dollars.

2025 1st, Kakko and Perrault for Anderson & a 2nd?
Still doesn't address our need for a centre.

Many teams would jump ay getting Nurse.
He's not great, and is overpaid, but is a viable NHL dman.
As someone said, there are always suckers out there.

Trouba has one more year after this, and it's not like they're expected to be contenders next year, either. Nurse has until 2030. That's a much higher price.

You won't get all of those assets. Delete Perrault and the 2nd.

You probably won't get all of those assets. Delete Perrault and the 2nd.
Of course, depends on demand.

Perrault is the only thing you are realistically keeping there in a deal for Anderson.

Seems unlikely. They had their chance at him. They low balled. They regret it.

Trouba can take his guitar to the beach and hang out with surfers and song writers. He'll probably love that. Likely the end of his marriage...which he might be okay with too.

Could definitely see the rags try to make a move for Miller now, but they desperately need a solid d man to prop up their back end now. Weegar is probably a better fit than andersson tbh now that they have the space. I also have this weird memory of the rags being interested in Weegar prior to us acquiring him, but could be wrong.

They made their move. They low balled. Canucks walked. Miller re-signed and became the Canucks leading scorer. Unless Drury comes to the table with a ridiculous offer, I am not sure it works out.

The Trouba move was just to make salary for Shesterkin's extension. I don't see them going big game hunting for any player that isn't a rental.
